One in five U.S. election workers may quit amid threats, politics

"In the poll of nearly 600 election officials, more than 75% said threats against election administrators and staff have increased in recent years. The percentage saying they are “very worried” about political leaders interfering in future elections has nearly tripled since before 2020.

Depends on the county. Wayne, Fulton, Philadelphia , Baltimore and St. Louis counties I’d be very concerned if I was desperate enough for a job to be an election worker.
 
You volunteer for other reasons than money. You will not solve your financial problems with a one-day job. it is boring. I have done it a few times. You sit at a table all day . when a person comes in you check to see if their name is in your precinct log book. You check identification. Then they sign a voting card and you check the signature to see if it matches the one in the book. I read that is done electronically now. Would you do that all day for 75 bucks? You also have to do some training classes.

I see it as civic duty.
