Putin's miscalculation of NATO: 'He was listening to Trump'

I have to admit, that didn't bug me in theory.

My cousin's husband was a Russian language interpreter for the Canadian government. He interpreted a private meeting between Gorbachev and Prime Minister Mulroney. Sometimes, world statemen want to discuss things privately, and the interpreter is ethically and professionally sworn to secrecy.

The problem is, Trump is not a statesman like Mulroney or Chretien were. Trump is a moron who should never be trusted to have private meetings with Putin or any other leader of an adversary nation.

In Trump's defense! He doesn't want the world to see Russian whores pissing in his face!
Although his supporters wouldn't give a fly fuck!

What can you say that is positive about lunatic Trump???????????????

Best unemployment numbers in 60 years booming economy pre covid and now look once the economy was opened back up. Of course Government spending is causing the worse inflation in 40 years, and will lead to another recession!

Pulitzer Prize-winning historian explains

"The Russian president has long sought to weaken NATO, but his unilateral invasion of his democratic neighbor has rallied the organization that had been battered by the twice-impeached former U.S. president -- and historian Anne Applebaum said Trump's attacks had given Putin a false sense of confidence.

"Yes, I think Putin was listening to Trump's denunciations of NATO and he imagined NATO was permanently divided and wouldn't be able to unite again," Applebaum told CNN."

An interesting theory that assumes Putin is dumber and more insane than Trump. Personally, I doubt that possible.

IMHO, Putin pulled Trumps strings like a puppeteer. Since Putin couldn't get what he wanted out of Trump peacefully, he chose genocide of Ukrainians. All on Putin.

Trump is just a greedy dumbass who'd sell off one of his kids if the price is right.

That's a rather important distinction.

When you cannot trust the leader of the nation to represent the interests of said nation before everything, private meetings with the partner in crime who tainted your election should not be allowed.

'Trump is having an impact': NATO head credits president's tough talk for $100B boost

THE SAME DEBUNKED LIES ,OVER and OVER AGAIN....

Lol. Funny that you admit that you are lying.

NATO was merely complying with an agreement to bring their contributions up, that existed before anyone even knew who trump is.

Trump has made similar claims before. As we’ve written, Trump likes to take credit for increased spending by other NATO countries — which have upped their spending on defense by $40 billion, or 15%, from 2016 to 2019 — but he’s wrong to claim spending was “heading down” before he took office. Other countries had increased their defense spending by $12 billion or 4.8% from 2014 to 2016, according to the NATO report.
In his appearance with Stoltenberg, Trump also claimed: “And yet, you still have many delinquent — you know, I call them ‘delinquent’ when they’re not paid up in full. And then, I asked the other question: When they don’t pay up in full, what happens to the past year? So let’s say Germany is at 1% and they stay at 1% and another 1. … Because, you know, it’s not like, ‘Oh, gee. Let’s start a brand-new year.’ A lot of countries haven’t paid. And you could make the case that they haven’t paid. They’re, really, delinquent for 25, 30 years.”
But NATO countries don’t owe money to anyone else if they spend less on defense than other member countries.
In 2006, NATO countries made a commitment to aim to spend 2% of their GDP on their own defense. A NATO spokesman at the time said: “Let me be clear, this is not a hard commitment that they will do it. But it is a commitment to work towards it. And that will be a first within the Alliance.”
A 2014 NATO declaration after a summit in Wales again said that countries that weren’t meeting the 2% goal would “aim to move towards the 2% guideline within a decade.”

Trump's ethics are measured by his bank account. It's his only meter.

Precisely. trump's run at POTUS was a self promotion, money making scheme.

When he accidentally won, he immediately devised new ways to funnel taxpayer money into his own coffers.

We've never had a pro-Kremlin president with the intelligence of a filling cabinet before, so the concern about private face to face meetings between world statesmen never came up before.

Agree. There were many 'firsts' with trump, but in recent centuries we never worried that the POTUS was pulling off a money making scam while in office.

Every policy position was founded on trump's financial/political interests. Nothing more.

It'll take time, but eventually it should come out how much classified material/intel Trump gave Putin.
