It has nothing to do with racism. The LSAT isn't racist anyway. Amy was clearly a better nominee than Ketanji because Barret had a larger body of opinions she had written on the court of appeals. Ketanji has written only one opinion on the court of appeals and Barret had written 49. We are right to want additional information on Ketanji.

Notre Dame has an average LSAT that is 10 points lower than Harvard.
Notre Dame graduates pass the bar first time about 89% of the time. Harvard graduates pass it first time about 99%.
Harvard is listed as one of the top 2 law schools in the country. Notre Dame doesn't even make the top 25.

So.. what evidence do you have that Amy Coney Barrett is brilliant? It would appear she is likely be be less qualified based on her record than Ketanji Brown is.

Barrett then attended the Notre Dame Law School on a full-tuition scholarship. She served as an executive editor of the Notre Dame Law Review[34] and graduated in 1997 ranked first in her class with a Juris Doctor summa cum laude.

Plus Barrett was named a professor of law in 2010, and from 2014 to 2017 held the Diane and M.O. Miller II Research Chair of Law.[41] Her scholarship focused on constitutional law, originalism, statutory interpretation, and stare decisis.[33] Her academic work has been published in the Columbia, Cornell, Virginia, Notre Dame, and Texas law reviews.[39]

These are all goalpost moves since your original assertion that we just needed the President to say the candidate was brilliant.

I guess that's subjective. I think ACB was a good choice, personally (though I don't agree w/ her politics). I had no problem w/ it. It's one of those "elections have consequences" things that the right seems to have forgotten. It was Trump's choice, and his right to choose whoever he wants.

But, I also think Biden's choice is a good one, with a stellar resume. And he said she was brilliant, so....

Barret never sat for a single case as a judge. She only was on the appeals court after Trump appointed her to an appeals court with no judicial experience.
That means Brown sat as a judge for 9 years of trials and wrote over 600 judicial opinions and Barrett sat as a judge for 0 cases and wrote 0 judicial opinions.
So now we are 601 to 49 with court opinions. Barrett has never heard evidence in a single case or had to rule on that evidence. Barrett has fewer than 10% of the judicial opinions that Brown has and Barrett has never had to make a ruling on her own without consulting with other judges. Barrett's writing what several judges decided doesn't make her much more than a glorified secretary.

Wow, Barret ranked first in her class where the top LSAT for entering was lower than the bottom LSAT for getting into Harvard.
Notre Dame - top 25% LSAT - 168
Harvard - bottom 25% LSAT - 170
I guess she was the smartest of all the dumb people that couldn't qualify for Harvard. That doesn't make her brilliant. You still haven't told us what Barrett's LSATs were.

I'm not avoiding anything. YOU set the standard - as long as the President says the candidate is brilliant, it doesn't matter if they narrow the criteria by gender or ethnicity.

I'm just holding you to that. You keep trying to move the goalposts - I think because you realize your double-standard - but it's all here on this thread, in black & white. No pun intended.
 
And whether conscious or not, I do think it's racist. I don't think Carlson asks this of a white candidate, nor do I think anyone defends his comments in that scenario.

Harvard lowers it standards for black students so Barret could have easily got in had she had black skin. I had a business partner that was Hispanic and got a Harvard Medical school interview offer. He had GPA and MCAT than me. And I ultimately graduated in the top 10% and he was around 50%. I didn't get a offer to interview at Harvard :laugh:

Brown was supervising editor of the Harvard Law Review. That is a little more prestigious than being the editor of a law school that doesn't even crack the top 25 best law schools in the US.

Care to provide your evidence of Harvard lowering their standards for law students?
If the average score of the bottom 25% is 170 on the LSAT and the average score of the bottom 50% is 173 what do you think Brown's LSAT is? I'll give you hint. It can't be too much lower than 170 even if she had the worst scores of any incoming students.
