Kyiv and Moscow agree to humanitarian corridors

Well. Let's say YOU are at the Table. What do YOU do?
Most 'Wars' end in 'Negotiations'.
you really dont want my opinion on this, it's a tragedy of arrogance and neglect with a dash
of Putin's (well deserved) paranoia.
I dont support any wars where civilians are killed, as much as I get the geopolitics

end the fucking nightmare by any means possible is my gut response, but events have gone too far

it goes back even further. violations of the Budapest memorandum by the Crimean annexation but also
US fomenting revolution at the Maidan ( 2014 Independence Square)
which violated Obama's own "Russian reset" by Nuland and those chumps

Here's a chance to Air the Dirty Underwear.

It's a Politics Forum.

Anatta: "end the fucking nightmare by any means possible is my gut response".
Jack: I think everyone is in Full Agreement. Even Putin and his Generals.

Strike while the iron is Hot.

I think Putin realizes that:
1. Russians are being forced to kill their Ethnic Brothers (like Americans killing Canadians).
2. That the Russian economy is now in FreeFall.
3. That the 'Oligarchs' may begin to think it's time for a 'New King'. (They didn't get into this to become 'Poor')
4. That the 'Crimea and Donbas Problem' could be resolved.
5. He could negotiate NOT being labeled a War Criminal.
I thnk he probably knew this going in -but that's an excellent summary
Which begs the question why did he do it anyways?
I got my ideas that he simply finds NATO on his border an intolerable long term threat to Russian security
and his mind at least had no other choice as Ukraine was going to become more and more a threat

Ukraine isn't & never was a threat, and weren't going to become one.

It's sheer paranoia, combined w/ nostalgia for the old Soviet Union.

He miscalculated badly.

? I can only guess.
I think Putin thought eastern Ukraine would welcome Russian Troops with Flowers. NOT Molotov Cocktails.
That TV actor and comedian, Zelensky, would fold like a lawn chair.
That NATO would show disarray, especially Germany with NordstreamII.
That America would be 'divided'.

Putin can get a 'Paper Win' if Ukraine cedes over Crimea to Russia, some kind of 'Resolution' (autonomous region, independent State) for Donbas, Ukraine 'Pledges' to NOT join NATO.
At this point, this looks like the Best Option. I think Russia and Zelensky (reluctantly) would both jump at this.

I dare say that the Ukrainian neo-Nazis have already left the country disguised as women and statues .

Maybe, and guess who will welcome them.

Haw......haw.......haw.

thats insane. look at how militarized they are even NOT as a NATO state.
And Biden was uber- militarizing -Trump less so but the same
How would you like the equivalent of the Russian federation on our border ?

problem is Zelenski will never go for renouncing NATO and Putin wouldnt trust him if he did
There would have to be NATO signatories as well
Once a war starts....and this one hasn't even shaped into dynamics yet

Not a lot of Options at this point.

i dont think so either.
keep talking, but Zelensky apparently still thinks he can repel the Russians and Putin thinks he can
grind down the Uk forces

I don't think Zelensky or anyone else thinks they can stop Putin's War Machine. Russia is RIGHT NEXT DOOR.
Russia is starting to 'turn off Power and Water' to Cities. The 'Gloves are Off'.
'Pulverizing Ukraine back into the 12th century' is what will be occurring.

Xi and Putin have thought this through, you can be sure of that.
