The same way that money donated by the government to planned parenthood didn't go to abortions when certain people are in office. The money that would have been on the books as going towards abortions when a different person is in office is simply given to the "education" portion, all the money that would normally be budgeted for "education" is then simply moved over to the abortion area.... a simple bait and switch.

the crowd noticed the conflict between the two as well....as soon as he said it, they started shouting.......
 
I saw this on the local affiliate for ABC News....there was one point where one of the people made a statement about the proposal that wasn't true....Frank pulled a copy, went to the page in question and read verbatim....proving the person wrong. DESPITE that, the person refused to believe him. Frank pointed out that there was no point in presenting fact to anyone whose beliefs prevent them from hearing or seeing anything else.

Frank is not my favorite politician, but damned if he didn't set these clowns straight in no uncertain terms.

The Obama plan is being paid for by higher taxes (although I don't think they can fund it all by higher taxes on the wealthy, I think a VAT would make more sense). The public plan is not receiving the funding.

????....so, you're saying the federal funding is going to "Obama's plan" instead of to the "public plan"......

let's get specific....we apparently have "47 million" uninsured Americans who need health care but haven't got the money to pay for it.....this bill is designed to provide health care for them (at least ostensibly).....where is the money coming from to provide them with health insurance?.......as I understand it, from federal funds, derived at least in part from taxes......so, how can you and Barney say it isn't getting federal funds?.......

BKP is no tool Topper but you are right. Franks about the only Democrat that's shown any leadership on the health care reform bill. Personally I've always enjoyed Franks inability to suffer fools and his blunt willingness to either speak the truth or aggressively defend his point of view or disabuse idiot who have fooled them selves into thinking that they know what their talking about. I wish there were many more in the house like him. Save the patrician manners bullshit for the Senate. The house is supposed to be a bare knucked brawling zone and Barney brawls with the best of them. God bless his light loafered shoes! LOL

We throw that around way too often in the US to describe even the most mild government interest. Its use is now worth nothing at all except to get people to stop listening immediately.

Let us make it perfectly clear, nobody in the US government is a Nazi, nobody here is even thinking of stripping off the skin of a specific group of people to make lampshades out of their tattoos, nobody is convincing them they can shower and killing them in toxic gases... and those are just two of the examples. What the Nazis did places them in a special place in history hopefully never to be comparable to another future government.

I got news for you. We've done equally as attrocious acts in our past history as the Nazi's have. Americans are particularly senstive about fascism because, based on our history, we know that our people are susceptable to it.
