Russian Vodka

2019 [prior to COVID]

https://www.eia.gov/energyexplained/us-energy-facts/imports-and-exports.php

The United States became a net total energy exporter in 2019 for the first time since 1952 and maintained that position in 2020 even though both total energy production and consumption were lower in 2020 than in 2019. Total U.S. energy exports exceeded total energy imports by 3.46 quadrillion British thermal units (quads) in 2020, the largest margin on record. U.S. energy exports in 2020 totaled 23.47 quads, and energy imports fell 13% to 20.0 quads, the lowest level since 1992.
And now that American companies joined OPEC, they slashed production

COVID, . For ademand was down, we were still importing oil. This is not independence to me.
We were exporting more than we were importing. We import from Mexico because its near refineries we export to other countries because those markets need LNG . For a Texas resident you don't seem to know much about oil and gas production.

We still weren’t energy independent, kittylumpkins, we were still importing foreign oil.

and oil is sold on the world market, when the Saudis limit production our prices go up just like everyone else's

imagine if the US only used domestic oil, produced and refined by solely domestic oil companies....those pirates would have us paying $30/gal at the pump by now

If the US was still energy independent and an exporter of oil and gas it wouldn't as much. But Biden made sure we weren't energy independent or an exporter anymore.
Of all the stupid shit you post, this one is near the top of the list. Why did trump cut oil production?

[h=1]North American oil producers slash output faster than OPEC skeptics expected[/h]
Numerous producers in North America announced sizeable cuts, including ConocoPhillips, Exxon Mobil, Chevron Corp and Canada’s Cenovus Energy. The United States and Canada, which produce more than 17 million barrels per day, have already cut output by about 10%, according to Reuters estimates.

I wish they would block Russia's access to SWIFT. That would hurt those oligarchs and Putin more than not drinking their vodka.
I think Germany indicated today they would be open to kicking Russian banks off Swift. Germany was one of the main holdouts

Because consumption fell.

The May 2020 futures contract for a barrel of WTI sank into negative territory for the first time ever in April 2020, as oil producers desperately tried to unload crude oil into a market that was suddenly massively oversupplied.

America needs a Federal oil company that will not artificially inflate prices. They should pump oil for U.S consumption only

Correct. So why are they still refusing to pump oil? Why did trump force them to cut production in order to appease Putin and his Saudi co conspirators?
I don't know why they aren't pumping 100 a barrel oil dumbass. Show why you think they aren't . God you are a moron.

Of course you are a moron. You prove it with every post.

Why did trump force American oil companies to cut production? You keep blaming Biden, when this is all trump.

Moron

It's a worthy idea but unfortunately the price per barrel is set by global markets so I don't think that a federal agency could do much about that. I do approve of the for-the-U.S.-only part, making sure that the suppliers are getting market price.

So you are saying that if not for the trump virus, prices would have been higher before Biden was POTUS?
Nope prices were stable at about $50 a barrel. Then the China virus hit and consumption went down and oil prices collapsed. Biden came in and killed oil exploration on federal leases and halted fracking so investment in exploration fell and production fell. Then consumption returned to normal so we had to start importing more and we had less to export. Oil prices rose and gasoline prices rose. Biden begged OPEC and Russia to Pump more. They said no. The Us oil producers still have not caught back up from the damage done to them by Biden . If Biden had not kill the KL pipeline it would have helped when it was completed but Biden screwed that up on day one. So thanks Biden for putting the US in a weak position to make demands on Putin.

It won't happen because...Socialism!

The only reason ppb is set by global markets, is because oil is sold on global markets.

Global markets cannot determine prices on U.S domestic programs. Oil sold at cost will help this country. Let the rest of the world be held hostage by American private oil companies.
