Putin has a level of corruption not seen in the USA. He lines the oligarch's pockets... And his own. Have you seen the palace he built for himself? He made himself a billion dollar palace with government money.

I don't believe the ' palace ' slur.

I don't believe the ' palace ' slur.

You believe all the American leaders are corrupt, but there is no way Russian leaders are corrupt? Really?

I reassure you, Russia is so much worse than you think, it is hard to imagine. There are places in the world less corrupt than the USA, but there are also a lot of places, like Russia, that are far more corrupt than the USA.

I expect a line from Kharkiv to Kherson. Any further and you have real risks of insurgency.

Like this?

Ukrainian Defense Ministry Urges Citizens to Fight Back with Molotov Cocktails as Russians Enter Kyiv

Maybe BLM and Antifa can fly over and help, if they can find an airport that will let them land.

Why is Putin so paranoid about NATO anyway? Is anybody seriously suggesting that it would attack Russia first?
C'mon. it's a hostile alliance that has moved aggressively eastward
You can condem Putin's move but one also has to look at basic security. Russia is still a military superpower
and NATO shows no lack of ambition to militarize on it's border.
That's why Russia cant just go thru Ukraine like a hot knife thru butter - we have armed it to it's teeth

lol where the hell is Kherson?? ill have to look.
So basically saw off 1/2 the country and let the rest be propped up by NATO?

yu should vote that on the OP

So what, Turkey is in NATO. Why isn't Putin going apeshit over that? He even sold them the S400 missile system, why do that? Can't you see that it's all bullshit about NATO, you can be sure that he'd attack the Baltic States if they weren't in NATO.

The Russians just attacked an orphanage in Kiev, what kind of chess move is that?

Turkey has good relations with Russia - it's in NATO but just barely.

I dont know if he'd take the Baltics -but say he would- they arent of any strategic value
Ukraine is a hostile ( and we helped make it that way because of the Euromaidan and militarization)
power that does have special status for Russia, being Little Russia and a long history of being Russias breadbasket

You can say "NATO expansion is a ruse for Ukraine" and maybe it is. But everything we did including militarization and refusing to promise a neutral status has also boxed in Putin
And he's tired of being in the box with sanctions and expansion

Now China is his safety valve -and we did our best to force the Russo-Sino close relations
we can't play geopolitics because it keeps getting wrapped up in morality plays

NATO is as moribund as the UN and the League of Nations.

I honestly think Putin wants to retore the Soviet Union to its former if short lived glory,
only this time as a fascist rather than communist state.

I was drafted to go to war against communists with whom I held no grudge.
If I were drafted to fight fascists, as my dad was, I'd have gladly gone. We were allies with the communists in his war.

But in the 1960s/70s, we were the fascists. Russia has gotten better at it than we ever were, at least before Trump.

Where we go to war merely to enrich our corporate war profiteetrs, Russia actually annexes countries.

The Russian statement claimed — without evidence — that US military and intelligence advisers have instructed Ukrainian military leaders to place rocket artillery systems in residential areas to provoke return fire on local residents, echoing propaganda claims that the Russian military has made in Syria to counter allegations of civilian casualties caused by Russian strikes.

CNN could not immediately corroborate those claims, but a CNN team on the ground witnessed Russian airborne troops taking positions at the airfield Thursday.

Russia accused of war crimes in Ukraine after kindergarten and orphanage shelled during invasion

A kindergarten and an orphanage have been struck by Russian bombs, sparking calls for Russia to be investigated for war crimes

https://inews.co.uk/news/world/russ...nvasion-kindergarten-orphange-shelled-1484074

"Russia has been accused of war crimes after harrowing reports it had shelled an orphanage and kindergarten on Friday morning during its invasion of Ukraine.

Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, said on Twitter that Moscow had committed war crimes and that evidence was being collected for a trial at The Hague. “Responsibility is inevitable,” he said.

Mr Kuleba did not disclose the location of the orphanage or kindergarten in question but one local said an orphanage in Volzel, outside Kyiv, had been shelled."

Any questions?

CNN, of course, is completely trustworthy.
