Devastating new poll for Trump - 72% side with Pence on 2020 election, 52% Repubs

This poll signals that the Trump bubble has burst.

A Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday found that 72 percent of all Americans, including a 52 percent majority of Republicans, said that Pence's view on the topic was closer to their "line of thinking."

"Could Pence have overturned the election as ordered by Trump?" Quinnipiac University Polling Analyst Tim Malloy asked in a statement. "Pence said no, and a large majority of voters agree, including 52 percent of Republicans, exhibiting a rare break in the GOP lockstep with Trump."

While most Republicans said they sided with Pence, 36 percent said they agreed with Trump, and another 12 percent were undecided. The poll was conducted among 1,321 U.S. adults between February 10 and February 14 and had a 2.7 percent margin of error.

there's still that 36% who will follow Don wherever he leads them, right wing kooks til the end apparently

The fact that there are still 36% of Cultists willing to destroy the Constitution -- and the country -- is not a good sign for our future.

It's too many people. Millions, who are so easily duped & conned.

It's really changed my POV on what kind of country we are. People who I thought were very fringe were really emboldened by Trump, and their #'s are far greater than I ever imagined.

It is scary. And how many near the center of power are on-board with it all?

And people who I always thought were rational, intelligent, good citizens have turned out to be fervent dupes of the #CorruptConMan.

definitely agree with that, but it seems like this 1/3 of the population has ALWAYS been here. Problem is Trump radicalized them, made their rightwing extremism mainstream, fed them enough red meat to choke an elephant. I remember them back in the Nixon/Vietnam era.....'silent majority' was their rallying cry. Nixon was thief and a dirtbag (what GOP jefe isn't) but he didn't have a PhD in populist flame throwing, a con man of the highest order finally did the job

Here is the thing, the Defeated Former President can still get the Republican nomination by triangulating the vote like he did last time. Once he is the nominee, most Republicans will fall in line lock step.

I think enough will sit out the election if the defeated former president is the nominee again that he will lose again, but who knows.

My die hard Republican brother sat the last one out, and would sit out again, but the Former Defeated President could get himself elected again.

At this point, Trump just looks like a sore loser.

Ever since we were in high school, normal people despised sore losers.

The only ones who seem to admire crybaby sore losers are Trump's fan boys on JPP, and in the fascist right.

Just as I ask Republicans: how long will you persist with this 'stolen election' nonsense?

I ask Democrats: how long are you going to obsess about January 6?
It was over 2 years ago now.
And was nothing more than a domestic terrorist incident (according to the head of the FBI).

I agree w/ that.

That's what gave us Trump originally. Over half of the primary voters didn't support him, but he was able to get the "Trump vote" in every state, and the remaining candidates split the remainder. Had there been fewer GOP candidates that year, we might have avoided a Trump Presidency & all of the damage it has done.

I think he'll get the nod again. The same thing will happen. His supporters are so hardcore, and he's basically guaranteed at least a third of primary voters, so if there are more than 2-3 other candidates, he could coast to the nomination.

Then, no matter what, he'll declare that he won the election in the end, and we'll have to go through all of this again.

Who cares how long ago it was? The actions in and around 1/6 are what matters. Trump didn't have enough people in place to "find votes" and steal an election last time. This time, he's working to rectify that.

Responsible Republicans could get together and agree to support only one opposition candidate in the primary, if they did that I’m pretty comfortable the opposition candidate would win.

You mean 48% of Republicans believe Trump's lie that Pence could've overturned the will of the people?
Man, those RepubliQans are a stupid lot.
