Another 'No Knock' killing.

Yes. Alcohol was once banned.

something to seriously think about with how far we've let the government get away from their constitutional limits. It took a constitutional amendment to ban alcohol and another to make it legal again, yet congress simply passed a law letting an alphabet agency determine what substance can be prohibited and what isn't.

It's a fatal flaw in the "no-knock" tactic, because if there is a wrong address, name or out dated information anywhere in the chain of creation of the warrant, you may end up with dead innocent citizens ... because the cops are operating on the premise that all is correct in the warrant.

The police are also operating under the premise they will be attacked, and are often trying to get their violence in first. Throwing a grenade into an apartment where no one has attacked them, in order to arrest a criminal who has never committed a violent crime is a violent assault. The police do not get to assault a non-resisting suspect, even if he is guilty.

Search or arrest warrants are not punishment. The police are not in charge of punishment. They are supposed to investigate, and use the least amount of force possible to apprehend. If a suspect is not resisting, the arrest should involve no force whatsoever. It is only after the court verdict any punishment comes into play.

Walter, you have a talent for stating the painfully obvious...especially when no one broaches that particular aspect of a conversation....and try to make it sound like an FYI rebuttal.

And as always, you just waste time and space with that tactic. What you posted does NOTHING to change the factual truth (as recent history points out) of what I posted.

Yes. Alcohol was once banned. There are still some Counties in Arkansas were it is still illegal to sell. Good Call, Gin.

I think we could compromise. Legalize amphetamines, opiates, narcotics, and hallucinogens, with the caveat that any crime you commit in pursuit/as a consequence of your habit is automatically treated with a high mandatory sentence. That way we can make a buck off of it, and I don't have to hear people like Jack bitch about unimportant shit. We can try getting back to discussing important rights, like religious expression.

Gambling used to be 'illegal'.

Sure, the most important constitutional protection that the founders left to you is your religious expression. As a lefty, you will choose not to exercise it, which will cause you problems on down the road. But, the minor licenses that you prefer over consequential rights (drugs, porn, prostitution) were not exactly priorities to John Adams and company.

Gun lovers should register with the local sheriff's office with an App for that purpose. A sheriff should be able to muster any local posse.

My 'religious expression' ... is Brotherhood. We're all in this together. How can we make 'Heaven on Earth'?. THAT is the Struggle.
The Founders supported 'Freedom'. I do too.

The defense and protection of the state and of the United States is an obligation of all persons within the state. The legislature shall provide for the discharge of this obligation and for the maintenance and regulation of an organized militia.

The founders understanding of freedom was basically the ability to do what one aught to do without the interference of government. Obviously, that view isn't shared much by your side.
