Speeding MUSCLE CAR (assault vehicle) runs red light - kills NINE PEOPLE in Vegas!!

All cars should come with speed limiters. I'm a big fan of states rights but we need a NATIONAL maximum speed limit of 50 with speed limiters set at 55. But liberals say no way - highway homicide is cool.

Texting Driver is a prime example of what is wrong with the alt right. They make every imaginable accusation, and then just go with whatever sticks. They have no interest in the truth.

Look at his most recent post. He is accusing liberals of being against regulation. Let me repeat that, because you might think I am joking, Texting Driver claims liberals are unwilling to regulate.

In the real world, maybe speed regulators are a good idea, and maybe they are not, but it is not liberals keeping them from being considered.

I bet you have a GET OFF MY LAWN sign in your yard too

I wouldn't be surprised to find he has this posted on his front door:

Truth is my middle name, you dumb tranny. It's you liberals who lie all the time. You told us serial felon george floyd was a hero and 14 year vet ashli babbitt was a terrorist and kyle rittenhouse shot 3 BLACK men.

Aren't geolocation risks based on a variety of factors? Not all states allow your location to be a major rating factor. For example, California law requires that car insurance companies calculate rates based on your driving record, annual miles driven and years of experience before considering your geographic location.

https://www.insure.com/car-insurance/car-insurance-factors.html

What about age-based risk surcharges? Young, single people are charged way more than married ones, regardless of driving history, or lack thereof, aren't they? Isn't that based on predictive reasoning?

Here are the states that don’t allow insurers to rate on age:

California (but can rate on years of driving experience, so those with less experience may pay more)
Hawaii
Massachusetts

Rhode Island does rate based on age but has a regulation to protect senior drivers. Rhode Island auto insurance companies are not permitted to non-renew a policy only because a person is age 65 or older.

Your base rate is the zip code. Everything else just raises it. The reason zip codes are used is most accidents are local to one's home, and the number of payouts in that area determines the amount estimated for the coming year, plus an added profit margin. That is, the insurer figures they'll pay out X and X(.06) is added to that as the profit margin (or whatever percentage they're allowed or going with).

Everything else adds to that amount. So, to lower your rate you find a zip code with the lowest rate for that company and get a PO box there, or some other similar means of having a mailing address in it and your insurance rate for the vehicle plummets.

Isn't that insurance fraud?

Why do we tolerate cars designed for killing? And why do we tolerate speeders and red light runners.? Americans have been brainwashed by the evil fake news press into thinking highway homicide is ok but gun deaths are horrible.

Its time to demand these instruments of death be registered and their owners have liability insuren.....oh wait.

Why do you oppose lower speed limits even though you know it would save thousands of lives every year?

I oppose them because they have issues of their own. A one-size fits all speed limit doesn't work in a nation as large and diverse as the US. There is also the issue of cost of transportation and the time value of money involved. The modern US highway system allows people more diversity in where they work, live, and enjoy society. Lowering speeds--particularly unrealistically lowering them--takes away from all that. So, it will lower the quality of life for many, raise the cost of goods and services for all, and saving lives is not the be-all, end-all of reasons to do most things.

The "It will save lives!" mantra is one trotted out to support a wide variety of things someone or some group opposes. It's no different than claims like "It's for the children!" or "Save the Whales!." These are all forms of thought terminating cliche, a logical fallacy. Their intent is to end the discussion in favor of the party using them.
