"By now you have no doubt heard about the situation currently taking place in Colleyville, TX at Congregation Beth Israel. Naturally, our prayers and thoughts are with the rabbi and hostages being held, as well as their family, friends and entire community.

The Secure Community Network (SCN), the official homeland security and safety initiative of the organized Jewish community in North America, which is always in contact and collaboration, nationally and locally, with both law enforcement agencies and Jewish institutions, reports that "this situation appears to be local and isolated; SCN is not aware of any direct, credible threats to any other institutions."

Nevertheless, our congregation has been in touch with the Police for increased vigilance and support. As a reassuring precaution, during tomorrow's Tu B'Shevat Program, a security detail will be present."


As a Jew I would never have thought we would be unsafe in America :(

Thankfully my grandparents who escaped the pogroms and fled to America aren't alive to witness this

We say goodbye to the Sabbath in a bittersweet ceremony that employs wine, fragrance, and candlelight. Havdalah is a ceremony (it literally means separation or distinction), at which time we take leave of Shabbat.

It looks to me that the majority of the Jew Hate comes from the Left. It's been a big problem in Olympia for about a decade now.

It turns out that Olympia is not allowed to have a Jewish Deli. The Regressives shut it down, something about Israel they said. The owners were fine, but allowing a Jewish Deli to operate in Olympia would "Send the wrong message" we were informed.
