First US state to offer universal healthcare

California would become the first US state to offer health insurance for all – including migrants inside the country illegally – under a new budget proposal revealed by Governor Gavin Newsom, a Democrat.

“Here’s the big one: California is poised to be, if this proposal is supported, the first state in the country to achieve universal access to health coverage,” Newsom said at a press conference on Monday, unveiling his ‘California Blueprint’ proposal for the 2022-23 budget.

This would mean “full-scope Medi-Cal, including long-term care, IHSS [In-Home Supportive Services], and behavioral health to all low-income Californians, regardless of immigration status,” he explained.

About time. Heathcare should be free at the point of use- as in the UK and Australian socialist civilizations.

2 questions.

1) why the fuck would you offer free healthcare to illegal immigrants?
For what purpose?
I am dead serious.

Canada (apparently) does not do so?
https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/illegal-immigrants-have-no-right-to-free-health-care-court/

Why the bleep would you do such a monumentally stupid thing?

2) please explain to me why California will not then become a magnet for millions of illegal aliens to come and get INCREDIBLY expensive operations/procedures for free?
Some 80 year old illegal alien in Texas needs a triple bypass operation? He can then just hop on a bus to LA and get that operation at California taxpayers expense.

And what is to stop TENS OF MILLIONS of people from ALL over the world from simply flying into California on vacation? They are not illegals. They are just low/middle class people and they want a free, US operation that they cannot afford back home.
So they fly into California - posing as tourists. And once they land? They suddenly claim they are an illegal alien.
Get the free, mega-expensive operation.
Recover in the hospital for free.
And fly on home.
All at California taxpayers expense (except travel costs).

If Californians vote for this part of the Bill?
They are beyond gullible and/or naive.

1) Medicine is a noble and compassionate undertaking. Its code should be followed.

2) You clearly support imposing costs upon people to prevent them seeking treatment. Bit of an asshole really, aincha.

3) If free health care - and education - were universal then people would not have to migrate to seek either.

Your response to such altruism is entirely predictable.

Haw, haw.........................................haw.

Canada has universal healthcare, which leaves the USA sticking out like a 19th century sore thumb. Still, healthcare free at the point of use is "socialism", so don't expext the Land of the Free to catch up any time soon.

Compassion???

So Californians are SOOO compassionate that they offer free healthcare to illegal immigrants?

But refuse to offer even free, basic shelter to over 60,000 homeless people in LA alone?
Most of whom are Americans.
Many are veterans.

That is hypocrisy.
NOT compassion.

Try again, Gandhi.

It isn't ' hypocrisy ' . California isn't deliberately attempting to make people healthier on one hand and working to make them sick on the other.
Also, providing healthcare is an entirely different proposition to providing accommodation.

Have another go, Mussolini.

Of course it is hypocrisy.

You typed above:
'Medicine is a noble and compassionate undertaking.'

And since the people of California have to vote for this law?
Then you are saying that those that vote for it are compassionate.

But to ignore people whom are homeless is uncompassionate.
It would only cost a tiny fraction of the healthcare costs to aliens to offer shelter to the homeless.
Yet these 'compassionate' Californians choose not to help them.

That IS hypocrisy.
Whether you like it or not.

You cannot help one poor person and than deliberately ignore another one and call yourself 'compassionate'.
Unless you are delusional.

By definition.

Have a nice day.
