Travis McMichael and his father, Gregory McMichael, were sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole by Judge Timothy Walmsley on Friday in the death of Ahmaud Arbery.

William “Roddie” Bryan was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole.
Walmsley addressed Arbery's family ahead of the sentencing, warning that "sentencing does not generally provide closure."

"In this case, I think many people are seeking closure. The mother, the father, the community, and maybe even parts of the nation, but closure is hard to define and is a granular concept. It's seen differently by all depending on their perspective and the prism of your lives," Walmsley said.

A jury consisting of nine White women, two White men and one Black man, found the men guilty on a raft of charges, including felony murder, in November.

Hopefully, this will get idiots like these dudes to think twice before they start freaking out over such nonsense.

If a woman was screaming that a 'black man just raped me' or something...and this poor fellow had been running away from that general area?
I could at least understand the thought behind the crime...sort of.

But some dude is running in a neighborhood and you trap him and shoot him?

What the fuck is that shit?

Clearly, these guilty idiots are moronically moronic and the public is better off that they are behind bars for good.
Very sorry someone had to die to have it happen though.

I don't know how much peace it will give the family, but these are minimal sentences considering what they did.

Life in prison is 'minimal' to you?

Are you hoping to have them in jail to start their next life - if there is such a thing?

I think the sentences seem fine to me.
The death penalty is for the weak.

My big brother might have been murdered (burned to death - the police never decided if it was suicide or murder..they thought probably suicide).
And even if they found those who did it?
I STILL would not want the death penalty for them.
What good would it do?
It would not bring my big bro back.

Life in prison is no picnic.

I just wish they would make ALL violent criminals serve their time in solitary.
But that is another story.

I knew someone was going to say that but didn't go back to edit my post. Bryan's sentence was minimal. They should all die in prison with no chance ever of getting out early.

I don't support the death penalty.

Fair enough.

But I think two of them will die in prison.
In the link, it says two of them got life without parole and the other one got life with the chance of parole.

I (wrongly) assumed you probably wanted the death penalty.
As there was nothing else I could think of that was worse in our system.

You think the 52 year old who is eligible for parole after 30 years won't die in prison?

Do you need me to explain how numbers work again?

You're right. There's not. I really just meant that Bryan should have also gotten life without parole. I also think there are humane ways of reducing the comforts in prison for people like these.

I know how.
Solitary confinement.

I spent a little time in prison waiting for a trial - long story, it was just for trying to evade police in my car. No one got hurt but the cop's ego who caught me. So he freaked on me and charged me with everything he could think of. It got watered down to 'dangerous driving' at the trial.
And I only got that because I was so stupid and turned my lights off (at night) to try and evade him. Even though it was in a city...DUMB!!! Hey...I was 21.
If I had left my lights on - I would have only got a big fine and that's it.
Not even a license suspension.

And I was not in a jail...but a 'prison' with murderers and all the lovelies.

And if there is one thing that cons depend on more than anything in prison...it's company.
If you force every con (especially violent ones) to serve their ENTIRE sentence in solitary?
It will drive most of them NUTS.
Some will not mind - especially the really crazy ones (IMO).
But most of them will FREAK OUT.

Also, all anyone learns in prison is how to be a better criminal.
Prisons - as they are now - are almost useless.

It just makes the cons smarter and more angry for when they get out.

We HAVE to separate cons, eliminate parole and make violent crimes MUCH longer sentenced and non-violent ones MUCH shorter sentenced.

That is what I think...anyway.

Dude you are literally retarded.

So you want all criminals who go to prison, even nonviolent ones to come out "nuts"? Lol, McHalfwit is a great name for you.

Judge made a lot of mistakes. The convictions should be overturned but these 3 men will have a tough time finding a lawyer to take the case after the way the press demonized them.

Former Glynn County police officer Gregory McMichael along with his son Travis and their neighbor, William "Roddie" Bryan, were all given life sentences on Friday for policing their community at the request of local law enforcement and shooting a suspect with a long criminal history who tried to take their gun.

Superior Court Judge Timothy Walmsley refused to do his job and interpret a vague community policing citizen's arrest law in the defendants' favor as is customary in such cases and refused to allow the jury to know about Ahmaud Arbery's long criminal history, even though Gregory McMichael had helped arrest Arbery for theft in 2018.

Local police told a break-in victim who had multiple videos of a man matching Arbery's description with similar tattoos trespassing into his home to call Greg McMichael so the former law enforcement officer could legally make a citizen's arrest if he caught the suspect in the act.

Walmsley allowed racial arsonists Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson into the courtroom to influence the jury and allowed them to hold what amounted to a jury intimidation rally outside the courtroom where they threatened they were "gone keep coming" back to the court "until we get justice!"

The judge also allowed Black Panthers and black nationalists to hold similar jury intimidation marches outside the court without issue.

Yeah, you can't just go chasing people down the road and shoot them.

Although when I was younger, these dudes caught some friends of mine's brother trying to steal their car radio and hocked him down running past me..beat the shit out of him a couple houses down...then called the police and they took him to jail. :dunno:

They didn't get in any trouble.

Next Up: Thoughts on the Jan. 6 insurrection
"But. But. BLM!"

There hasn't been an insurrection yet, faggotard.

Last one convicted of insurrection for BLOWING UP A RESTAURANT FULL OF PEOPLE; Obama set free on his way out of office. True Story.

Because he was a leftist terrorist, the kind Obama likes.

130 bomb attacks.

Number of bombs set off on 1/6, leftards? What's that?! Zero?!

Yeah, STFU with the "insurrection" bullshit. Weaktards.
