I'm sorry for his wife and kids but he wasn't a good person. I had not allowed him in my home for more than 20 years.

Yes he needed it. He wouldn't have had a chance without a ventilator. In the end it didn't save him though. Hospitals lose money on cases like his. They spent more money than they got reimbursed by the government for the DRG.
