I agree. I have invested significant time learning about Jesus, Confucius, Sidartha Guatauma, Muhammed, Zhuangzi, Zarathustra, Plato, Aristotle, Cicero, Augustine, etc because I enjoy it.

Well, let's slice it into 3 pieces:
1. superstition.
2. Philosophy.
3. Results.

In my view, the superstition and occult aspects of religion are a waste of time. The 'walking on water' may have impressed Primitive People, but it seems farcical today.
In my view, 'Christianity' is a Slave Religion. A counter productive philosophy if you support the Individual and it's struggle to reach it's Full Potential.
A Thousand Years is enough time to prove what you are. The Dark Ages. A Time of Ignorance.

So, any way you want to slice it, 'Religion' is a Failure. You can continue to put lipstick on this Pig, but in the end, it's still a Pig.

You and I do not read archaic Greek, so we don't know what was really written in the NT. All we have are imperfect and imprecise vernacular English translations.

Pope John Paul II demostrated what Jesus intended. John Paul went to the prison his would-be assassin was held, and met him privately to say he forgave the man for shooting him.

He did not ask the man be released from prison.

Which is why I think the idea of paganism is legitimate. Christians thought nature was an objection.
