3 men guilty of murder in the killing of Ahmaud Arbery

I think the father should get 30-50 years. He's the one who instigated the chase. He's the one who told Travis to get his gun and chase Arbery.

"Roddie"? I say give him 20 years...

The father probably won't live another 20 years, but if that's the case, yes, he was definitely part of the problem.

Lots of people don't arm themselves and then go chase someone down and kill them, either.

What's your point?
That you were wrong and not man enough to admit it.

Those who believe being armed is a crime are fucking morons just like those who are armed and go looking for trouble are equally idiotic.

Why do you care?

This is a just and proper verdict. This was such a disgusting crime.

Anyone wanna' start a pool on what the punishments will be?

I say Travis McMichael gets life in prison without parole...
Im pretty sure he and his father will get life with no parole. Bryan will probably get life and be eligible for parole…in 30 years. Since the death penalty is off the table. Travis and Greg McMichael having been found guilty of multiple murder charges they will probably get life without parole. Which is pretty meaningless as even if they are eligible for Parole the McMichaels, according to Georgia law would have to serve 60 years to be eligible for parole. Roddie Bryan would need to serve 30 years. So it’s rather a moot point as all three are highly unlikely to ever be free men again and the remainder of their lives will be exceptionally unpleasant. If they get convicted on Civil rights charges, which is very likely, then matters can only get worse depending on which prison is worst. Federal or State.

These three pieces of human waste, now face federal charges now?!! Their next trial starts in February 2022?!!

Three men indicted on hate crime and kidnapping charges in connection to Ahmaud Arbery's death, federal prosecutors say

(CNN) Federal prosecutors indicted the three men accused of killing Ahmaud Arbery on hate crime and attempted kidnapping charges, the Department of Justice announced Wednesday.

Arbery, a 25-year-old Black man, was out for a jog near Brunswick, Georgia, on February 23, 2020, when he was chased down in a truck by three men and fatally shot. Two of the three men -- Gregory and Travis McMichael -- claimed to be conducting a citizen's arrest and acted in self-defense.

A third man, William "Roddie" Bryan Jr., who recorded video of Arbery's death, allegedly hit Arbery with his truck after he joined the McMichaels in the chase.

All three men were charged with one count of interference with rights and with one count of attempted kidnapping, according to a news release from the Justice Department.

Travis McMichael and his father, Gregory McMichael, were charged with one count each of using, carrying, and brandishing (in Travis's case discharging) a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence.

"It's one step closer to justice," Wanda Cooper-Jones, Arbery's mother, told CNN. "They did the investigation properly and they came out with those indictments. So, my family and I were pleased."

Only in fucked up Amerikkka!!! Watching the face of those two porky pig bastards and Elmer Fuck when the words Guilty were read....fuckin priceless!!

I'm guessing you haven't found that micro penis support group yet

Given the underhanded attempt at jury stacking by eliminating black jury candidates and given the region’s history and given that the local police and District Attorneys Office did not properly investigate the murder and didn’t charge the three men….an acquittal on the charges wouldn’t have surprised me either.
Agree.

Hey, dummy, I'm armed right now.

I haven't been wrong about anything...

Agree.

Isn't that Racial Profiling?

If Travis is given life, what should Roddie be given? The dad?

Well that’s up to the discretion of the trial judge. The death penalty was taken off the table so that won’t happen. That leaves the judge two choices per Georgia’s sentencing guidelines. Life without parole or life with eligibility for parole. Travis McMichael and Greg McMichael were both convicted of multiple murder charges. They will most likely get life with no parole. Bryan was convicted of one felony murder charge and will probably get just life and be eligible for parole.

Bryan does have mitigating circumstances in that he did provide the video and cooperated with the investigation. How significant those mitigating factors are and how much leeway the Judge has to not adhere to the sentencing guidelines. It’s possible that the Judge could show him some leniency. Not that it matters. At his age 20 years would probably be life sentence. He doesn’t look like the type that would long in prison.

Not technically as they didn’t specifically reject them for race. They found other reasons but when all but one of the black jurist candidates are rejected but one…it’s not to difficult to see a trend here.

I meant Matt's comment about the region and their history.

Can an African-American be racist against a Euro-American?

Sounds about right.

Any word on the sentencing day?
