In all seriousness, I wonder what the patterns are going to look like once the economy picks up. If immigration continues to drop dramatically, I guess one could say that some of the goals of enhanced border security worked.

I wonder how illegal immigrants from the USA are looking in Mexico?

Bush did succeed, although not in the manner in which he expected. Or did he?

this is a tongue in cheek thread to make fun of the minute men.....wow....so amazing....wow....i can't believe i don't keep up with politics like you do ladyt....i had no idea what i was missing....
 
i've always been on the fence about this fence issue....can i get a golf clap?

the fence issue is a non starter IMO. i mean wtf....tear down this wall....and now we want to put one up on our southern border....a wall will not solve the illegal problems and if it might magically do so, the moral and logistical ramifications are nonsensical and hypocritical.

you want to stop or diminish the flow of illegal immigration, don't give handouts to those who come here...schooling etc....sound harsh, yes it is, but it will stop the flow. further, enforce the law by going to all the fields and checking up on proper tax, employee id info.....during the depression all people worked in the fields, white, chinese, japanese, blacks.....now....only the mexicans.....

to say it has anything to do with race is ignorant....it has to do with us giving money to people who will not work via welfare....if many of those, not all, on welfare had their money cut, they would work the fields. why is it that americans, white, black, yellow, whatever.....somehow think it is ok for only mexicans to work the field and then somehow turn around and say....oh, its racist to not want them to work in the fields.....

they are the only ones that will work for Farm labor wages.
There are so many exemptions for ag labor in the laws.

In FL you can haul truckloads of farm workers and no seatbeltss are required. exempt from min wage laws, etc.

They are all over here and live in horrible housing 6-8 to a room.
Most of them are good workers though.

But then none or few of us are willing to pay more for our produce, etc now are we?

I hope they do completely stop illegal immigration. But then people will bitch because of how much produce costs. Americans don't work in the fields because it does not pay to do so. To get US citizens to work in the ag sector you will have to raise ag wages considerably and NO ONE wants to do that.
