Meet the Democrats Keeping Your Drug Prices High

how do you 'easily' solve that problem..............be specific

A Constitutional Amendment that bans political donations by instituting an entirely publicly-funded campaign system, criminalizes lobbying as bribery (which is technically is), and establishes that corporations are not people.

GOP resistance to campaign finance reforms shows disregard for US voters

Republicans always fight campaign reform

Democrats alway try to pas bills to reform

Democrats used to rail against 'dark money.' Now they're better at it than the GOP.
Reformers wonder whether anyone can be trusted to dismantle a system that allows secret funding of campaigns.

Kill the Republican Party structure so we can pass the bills

The GOP could not survive publicly-funded elections...and I'm not sure the Democratic Party would either.

I think what you would see is a splintering of those parties into dozens of new parties, and Congress would more resemble a Parliament where coalitions are forced to work together, all answerable to their voters instead of donors.

And imagine the millions and millions of Bernie voters who couldn't contribute to his campaign because they didn't have the cash to spare!

Public campaign financing is the only means by which we can get legislation that works for the people, not just the wealthy.

And that is why the American middle class is becoming a mythological creature and upward mobility here is lagging behind all the other countries in the industrialized world.

ROFL..........how does an Amendment get proposed?

You asked for specifics and I gave them to you.

I never said it would be easy to accomplish; deconstructing an entrenched monied system isn't something that can happen without tons of resistance.

But even you must agree that politicians should court voters instead of courting donors....

choosing the Amendment process over getting a law passed presents the same exact obstacle..............or is that not part of the critical thinking list?

Elizabeth Warren appears to drop opposition to unlimited-money group backing her campaign

LAS VEGAS (Reuters) - Democratic presidential hopeful Elizabeth Warren on Thursday declined to disavow a new super PAC that has earmarked $1 million to back her candidacy, an apparent reversal from her vigorous opposition to the outside spending groups that have become central to American politics.

Elizabeth Warren Condemned Super PACs. Now She's Benefiting From One

her campaign limps into Super Tuesday, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren is receiving millions of dollars in help from the kind of outside money group she has repeatedly decried, underscoring the tough realities of a primary contest featuring two self-funded billionaires and a collection of rivals benefiting from political-action committee money.

Persist PAC, a super PAC that officially formed several days before the Nevada caucuses to support Warren’s campaign, announced Thursday it would spend $9 million in advertising across television markets in three Super Tuesday states: California, Texas and Warren’s home state of Massachusetts. The ad buy came on top of a $3.25 million investment from the group earlier this week in eight other Super Tuesday states.

Joe Biden’s $1.5B campaign haul reportedly helped by $145M in ‘dark money’

Dims are huge fucking hypocrites on the issue

This is the THIRD TIME I've had to say that it wouldn't be easy.

The SOLUTION is simple, but the process is not.

‘Dark money’ topped $1 billion in 2020, largely boosting Democrats

The 2020 election saw more than $1 billion in “dark money” spending at the federal level, a massive sum driven by an explosion of secret donations boosting Democrats in a historically expensive cycle.

Biden’s presidential bid attracted around $174 million in support from anonymous donors, more than six times the $25.2 million in dark money contributions and spending boosting President Donald Trump’s unsuccessful re-election effort.

WHOOPS!

The USA is so f*cked over with corruption that unless there is a massive boycott to bring the country to a halt until the money is pulled out of politics, things will only get progressively world. USA USA USA...the only industrialized cesspool to make government bribery, money laundering and insider trading legal. smfh

You're never going to get money out of politics. That's a pipe dream. And the irony is we've passed campaign finance laws so that less money goes to the political parties and more go to the outside private Super PAC's where they raise almost unlimited money and are less regulated and help contribute to extremism.

Which is why Biden won, the Democrats won the House, and then won the Senate two months later.

Do you think that your ideas could compete on a level playing field with liberal ideas? I don't, but I'd love to see for myself.

Public campaign financing would have meant Conservatives and Democrats got the same amount of money to campaign, so it would come down to whose ideas and policies are more popular.

I don't believe your ideas could win an election on a level playing field because your ideas and policies are terrible.

This is the THIRD TIME I've had to say that it wouldn't be easy.

The SOLUTION is simple, but the process is not.

the process is impossible, given the state of our populace today.............no amount of perseverance is going to change that, but maybe you need to experience the head banging thing for once

No, that happened because of the Supreme Court...those Campaign Finance Laws were gutted by Citizens United, which is why the only way to get money out of politics for good is a Constitutional Amendment.

the process is impossible

No it isn't.

We've passed 27 amendments to the Constitution, including one less than 30 years ago.

Again, it's not a sprint, it's a marathon, and no one said it would be easy.

Well, between the fact that most of the assholes are dying of COVID today and those who will die of old age in this decade, the country is going to age down dramatically, and change even faster.

Generation X isn't even going to get a chance to lead...we are going to go straight from Boomers to Millennials.

Millennials don't like rich people very much...and they like capitalism even less.

you go with that.........let me know how it works out for you

you go with that.........let me know how it works out for you

But even you can agree that banning political donating, lobbying, and taking away personhood from corporations would have a positive impact on our democracy, yes?

You would agree that money isn't speech, right?

Because if money IS speech, then there is no such thing as free speech, and some people have more speech than others.

Does that sound legit to you? Do you think some people should have more speech than others?

But even you can agree that banning political donating, lobbying, and taking away personhood from corporations would have a positive impact on our democracy, yes?
eventually, yes........but only if the braindead of our populace figures out that they need to think for themselves

You would agree that money isn't speech, right?
if money wasn't speech, then facing the jab or your job wouldn't be happening

Even if it's true that Democrats are keeping drug prices high,

it's still Republicans who make drug use necessary in the first place.
