Obama Embarrasses Republicans by Pointing Out That They're Playing Politics

Where are you getting that the health care plan is deficit neutral? That's the first time I've heard it called that.

That's been the plan the ENTIRE time numbnuts. The entire health care reform plan's purpose is to be deficit neutral. Just Google it.

let it simmer to get a more indepth look at the bill...as time goes on more and more are against this, support dropped below 50% this week on it....it is clear that you guys are trying to ram this down our throat...if its been this major problem as you day for decades, a couple or few months to consider the bill is nothing

it is not deficit neutral....the more we know about the bill the more expensive it gets, it never gets less expensive, always more, that is why you guys want to raise taxes for it

i gave you a link and some ideas, what do you say about those?

Give me a link to something the RNC is actually considering.

Demint's comments should tell you everything you need to know about what the Republican's real game here is. It's not about fixing healthcare at all. Fixing healthcare with Obama is in office is a bad thing for them. Finding a bipartisan solution is IMPOSSIBLE because the Republicans aren't interested in solutions. They're interested in defeating the legislation or making it ineffectual. That's why they haven't offered their own solution and it's precisely why they say they want to make this Obama's "waterloo."

that is a flat out lie that demint said republicans wanted to MAKE this obama's waterloo.....

your plan is unworkable and is too expensive, stop claiming your plan is a winner and will work, that is partisan crap

Obama Embarrasses Republicans by Pointing Out That They're Playing Politics...............................?????????????

Really? Who the hell fed you that crap ?

I don't feel embarrassed at all...

what's your plan?

I'll give you a minute, while you google the Republican National Committee's website.

It's not too expensive. That's not even a good excuse if it was. It's deficit neutral.

LOL... so his budget chief claims its deficit neutral, ok. And we all know government projections are always accurate, especially when we are spending at least $1 trillion dollars over ten years. Man if you truly believe that that is pretty impressive.

This past Friday on MSNBC, Center for American Progress researcher Igor Volsky told MSNBC “the House bill is deficit-neutral over ten years” This is flat-out untrue. Here is the CBO letter (PDF) that Volsky was referring to. Click on it. Search for the term “deficit-neutral” … or even just “neutral.” You’ll notice that those terms do not appear anywhere in the document. This is what the CBO letter actually says:

According to CBO’s and JCT’s assessment, enacting H.R. 3200 would result in a net increase in the federal budget deficit of $239 billion over the 2010-2019 period.

And if you have any doubt about CBO’s scoring of the House plan, here is what CBO director Doug Elmendorf told Congress last week:

Under questioning by members of the Senate Budget Committee, CBO director Douglas Elmendorf said bills crafted by House leaders and the Senate health committee do not propose “the sort of fundamental changes that would be necessary to reduce the trajectory of federal health spending by a signficant amount.”
“On the contrary,” Elmendorf said, “the legislation significantly expands the federal responsibility for health care costs.”

It relies on a bad assumption, which accounts for 100 percent of the miscalculation.

Orszag: House bill really is 'deficit neutral'
President Barack Obama's budget director, Peter Orszag, says a House health reform bill really is "deficit neutral," notwithstanding a Congressional Budget Office report late Friday which claimed the bill will add $239 billion to the deficit over the next ten years.

Orszag told Fox News Sunday that a CBO assumption that future payments to doctors would be cut dramatically under current law accounts for the claim that the bill is out of fiscal balance. "That is the only ereason that the bill shows a deficit," Orszag said. "That’s sort of already baked into our fiscal trajectory."

Orszag would not rule out taxing costly employer provided health plans, but kept up the White House line that there are "better ways" to raise money for health reform, such as limiting deductibility of charitable deductions.

LOL

The RNC's EXTENSIVE, detailed four-page healthcare solution. Are you fucking kidding me?

i took five seconds, you want to find out their plan, look it up...i really don't care if they don't have a plan, you don't have a plan that will work either...you saying so doesn't make it true

you act as if your plan is the only plan that will work, such partisan blindness and lies do not become you

i've given you my ideas that you consistently ignore, so you can STFU about people not have any other ideas, when given you ignore them because they aren't in the dem parrot talking points....your partisan slip is showing full colors in this thread

It was the truth, retard. They want to defeat Obama so it will become his waterloo. There's no other way to read it.

You saying the plan wont work is total bunk. You don't like what you think it'll cost. That' doesn't make it ineffective. It means you don't like the price.
