Gas down $1.58, give Obama credit?

So all you who are blaming Presidnet Obama for the economic situation...


Does he get credit for the decrease in gas prices? This is a huge drop in Gas prices!!!?

Obama has been president for 6 monhts!!!

There isn't a hell of a lot a President can really do about gas; unless there is some causation that can be shown there, I wouldn't be inclined to credit Obama.

That said, I would like to hear from everyone who has said that Obama is destroying the economy & America on what they think of 7 key economic indicators rising in June...

Obama doesn't have anything to do with the prices going up or down.

when Bush was President and gas went down, they would say he was kissing the Saudis butt to do it...:cof1:

Dude you are looking at a year change in gas prices while Obama has only been in office six months.

This graph is only for San Francisco but I would surmise it can't be too far off the curve for the rest of the country. Gas is $4.61 in June 2008 and then $2.04 in January 2009 and is $2.90 today. So gases prices have actually risen under Obama.

Since you wanted to give him credit when you thought it dropped under his watch do you want to blame him now?

Correct: simple supply and demand. More people staying home since they lost their jobs means less gas is being consumed so the price goes down. Besides, isn't the price now higher than when Bush left office? *shrug*

Just because anti-war and the Mortgage brokers gone wild got the republicans exiled they think every left idea is right and every right one is wrong.

You need to quote your source... because from what I recall, gas prices were on average under $2 back in late January. They have RISEN since Obama took office, though that is not due to anything he has done. They most certainly have not fallen by $1.58.
