Naturally some of them might be a threat but the MIC overinflate the extent of those threats.
Why? Profit. We can see that during WW2. At least it brought us modern technology.

but in your post, you missed the two main things..........the executive allows those hyped up threats for power acquisition and you ignore those in elected office who profit from those exaggerated threats...........but then I might guess that it's because you refuse to acknowledge the corruption of your democrats like you accuse republicans

Elite is good. People become elite on merit. We want the elite, not the scrubs, where performance is required.
Some people like to toss rocks at any head that stands out among the crowd.

The cold war was never more than an excuse for both sides to persecute internal dissidents--
