President Joe Biden on Thursday falsely claimed that individuals vaccinated against COVID-19 "cannot spread" the virus to others.

"We're making sure health care workers are vaccinated," he added. "Because if you seek care at a health care facility, you should have the certainty that the pro- — the people providing that care are protected from COVID and cannot spread it to you."

COVID vaccines cut the risk of transmitting Delta — but not for long
People who receive two COVID-19 jabs and later contract the Delta variant are less likely to infect their close contacts than are unvaccinated people with Delta.

Previous studies have found that people infected with Delta have roughly the same levels of viral genetic materials in their noses regardless of whether they’d previously been vaccinated, suggesting that vaccinated and unvaccinated people might be equally infectious2. But studies also suggest that vaccinated people are less likely to spread the virus if they subsequently catch Delta: their levels of nasal virus drop faster than do those of unvaccinated infected people, and their nasal swabs contain smaller amounts of infectious virus3,4.

Contacts were 65% less likely to test positive if their exposure occurred from someone who had received two doses of the Pfizer vaccine, with an additional 36% less likely to test positive if their contact had received the AstraZeneca vaccine.

I appreciate that update, it is new info for me

important aspect to this - it dwindles alarmingly at three months after the receipt of the second shot. so apparently someone like me is back to infecting people the same as an unvaccinated - it has been 6 months

A vaccinated person cannot transmit the virus UNLESS THEY ARE INFECTED. Some of you are under the impression that being vaccinated somehow makes you infectious. It does not.
