then the moral question isn't "when it begins" but "can we end it".......
which was my point in my original post.
then the moral question isn't "when it begins" but "can we end it".......
and do you believe there is evidence to support "there is no god"?.....
That law is legislating morality, people believe it is wrong to recklessly endanger and/or kill children, they made a law against doing that.
Almost any criminal law has a morality equivalent. I can't think of one that doesn't. Why do you think it is wrong to kill another person, to imprison them without due course, etc? It is because we have a set of rights created from a set of morals...
I believe you trying to prove a negative is futile.
I also see the arguments used by PostmodernProphet and Topper as sounding similar. Both seem to think their view is the only rational view. Both seem to think the other is ignorant and irrational.
I guess we should be grateful for agnostics.
here's where you are wrong, I don't begrudge anyone for religion or thier god. I have a tennis god.
What I don't want is politics based on this flimsy SHIT
then we are back to my response to your original post.....when it begins is not a moral issue....which was my point in my original post.

Murder laws do not stop murders, the expectation that abortion laws would stop abortions would be equally mistaken, I agree. But that doesn't mean that one should not advocate for such a law. If you believe that a right to life has been taken, should you not advocate to spare that life?i'm not disagreeing with you on that aspect. what i'm trying to get across is that one cannot legislate morality and expect it to make people moral all of a sudden. You can teach people whats right and whats wrong, but ultimately a person is going to decide for themselves, so that laws, instead of saying 'you cannot do this' should be saying 'if you do this'.
You say you don't begrudge anyone their religion, but you have also said that those who are christians are uneducated. Strange.
I agree that we should not have laws based on any religion. But since people vote on who our leaders are, there is inevitably a big influence from religious beliefs.
then you have misunderstood my point.....my position is a position of faith.....the atheist errs by pretending their position is one of reason, when in truth it is equally one of faith........that is what makes atheists irrational, pretending they operate on reason instead of faith.....
Yes, I've explained this before on the site.then you have misunderstood my point.....my position is a position of faith.....the atheist errs by pretending their position is one of reason, when in truth it is equally one of faith........that is what makes atheists irrational, pretending they operate on reason instead of faith.....
Prove that no God exists. If you cannot you have just described why Atheism takes faith.that's total bullshit faith for no god existing
faith is believing in what can't be proven
Prove that no God exists. If you cannot you have just described why Atheism takes faith.
But it isn't. You self-defined it and I apply your standard to your own position. Now you can either put up the evidence that proves your position or recognize that one must have faith to step into a 100% belief that no God exists. Start proving.that's fucking comical at best.
That's what I thought. Another Frisbee chucking major.well, there's a Bachelor of Arts with majors in both History and Sociology, a Juris Doctorate and a Masters in Theology....

As soon as he learns to read, you'll probably be right. He's a lawyer. Juris Doctorate. So he's a Lawyer/Preacher/Historian/Sociologist.
I think he'll make a find addition to the board.
LOL Again, another case of the pot calling the kettls black! LOLback to the original question, assuming you are an atheist we now have three examples in this very thread of atheists acting irrationally......
