The other aspect is the wall.
Most of the construction/repair was in Az,and as a result the crossings there were way down

But the problem now is Tx. and a wall is difficult on the Rio crossing
REMAIN however does stop the Rio crossings

So the answer is to build the wall along the long stretches of desert/ dry land.
"the wall" was designed to have a road behind it so BP could quickly get to and apprehend those that did get thru. drones and monitering devices are not barrier, you need agents quickly able to respond at the border

If migrants get further in , the cartels are already operating on this side of the border to pick them up and give rides etc.
So the wall allow agents to stop them by quick access roads behind the wall

as to the laws/employers etc. there are so many millions here ( estimate upto 35 million) it's impossible to keep them all for working .if they cant work they become public charge ( must get money other then work)
we dont deport just for being here illegally. So how much good that is....not too much

ICE has been frozen out of deportation by Biden

In short the border security is key to getting the flow mangeable - laws might follow afterwards
but we need to fix the defacto open borders before that can happen

We're agreed we need to reduce illegal aliens. IMO, to zero. The best way to do it is societal. Make it difficult to illegally live in America. Not a hate thing, just a legal thing as every country has a right to expect.

If you want to bust prostitution in Moscow, you don't bust hookers unless that's how the cops get their bribes from the pimps. Arrest the Johns and the whole business dries up. Print their pictures in the newspapers or the city/county website.

The problem in Russia with that solution is "How do the city politicians get their bribes?"

In America, it's every employer and renter who profits from illegals. Bust them and the jobs will dry up.

One is a guy i know in nyc hes in texas now great guy stayed with him and his family a couple times and he told me if I ever wanted to go to the republic i could stay with his family there. He stayed with me a couple times in wva also.
I also young lady from there . she was one of my students I taught her to shoot. Even after I rwtired she kept in contact and told me to look her up uf I came to her nation. . I wouldn't but with my buddy I would as were close.

They've eradicated suicide bombers from Israel. Prisons use them with guards. If done right they work great. Maybe not 100% but far better than nation building.

It's more than just a small wall in a very small country as you should know. The entire society has a strong will to survive. They don't have to agree on all the tactics used by their own government to agree that their country is worth defending. 78% were born in Israel, a nation with the population of NYC and the size of New Jersey not to mention the wall isn't around the entire country.

When I was there a couple of years ago, they had soldiers on the street. Everyone is a draftee. The wall is simply a shield. The society itself is the wall if you want a wall. It's a defense in depth. Something Trump's wall won't give us.

It's my state for starters. Sorry, I'm a state's rights guy and thought you were one too. The Alamo is some history were a wall only slowed the enemy down. Like the Battle of Thermopylae it was a forward contingent of troops sent forward to hold off a superior force and ending up dying to the last man in defense against an aggressor.

You act like "the wall" solved all of their problems. First, it only slows down terrorist attacks. That said, due to higher security the terrorists switched to rockets.....which fly over walls. Again, because they are smart, they had a defense in depth, unlike our Stable Genius offered. The Israelis had Iron Dome....which is getting a really good work out at times. The last major attack was effectively stopped.

BTW, Congress just dumped the $1B gift to Israel for Iron Dome.

This is why having a president who declares himself to be both "a stable genius" and "smarter than the generals" shouldn't be allowed into the national defense room.

All he wants to see is a magical wall that will cure all illegal immigration problems. It's silly.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott said a shallow point across the river was an obvious place to reinforce the border with more guards to prevent people reaching U.S. territory.
