These are people that were only there to make a fast buck off of Afghanistan anyway! They KNEW BEING THERE WAS A DANGER IN THE FIRST PLACE- My God! These people knew the country has been in civil war for over 20 years! BUT THESE PEOPLE WERE DESPERATE TO MAKE AS MUCH MONEY AS THEY COULD EVEN UP TO THE LAST MINUTE AND TURNING THIS INTO A DEBACLE!

Who exactly are these Americans that were in Afghanistan that chose not to leave until the last minute? These people had all been warned to wrap up their business in Afghanistan and leave the country as soon as possible, and they knew they had to leave over a year and a half ago.

None of these people were brought to Afghanistan on Military planes. These people flew there by public transportation. They had a year and a half to get THEIR IRRESPONSIBLE ASSES ON A COMMERCIAL AIRLINE AND LEAVE THE COUNTRY- just like they got there. The Taliban did not close the airport for commercial flights leaving or coming until August 16th- and reason they did was because the people that ran the airport, the radar specialists, and control tower people had already left and the airport was turned over to our military.

When a building is on fire or is flooding anywhere in the world- DOES THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES HAVE TO BE THERE TO GET PEOPLE OUT? OR SHOULD THE PEOPLE IN THE BUILDING HAVE ENOUGH COMMON SENSE TO KNOW IT'S TIME TO GET THE FUCK OUT BEFORE THEY DROWN OR BURN TO DEATH?

OK, but what does making an impotent threat do to advance a plan of withdrawal?

The Taliban wasn't going to attack us as we withdrew anyway because they didn't want unrest, conflict, and upheaval either.

They need the country to not be that way in order for them to control it.

So when we make a threat like that, to whom is that threat directed and how does that threat help us evacuate safely? Belligerence doesn't make things go smoothly, ever. In fact, it makes things more difficult.

Trump agreed to a date of withdrawal and then did nothing over 11 months to ensure we'd hit that deadline.

As Vice president? Yes. He should have some input. Biden's mimicking Obama, and has chosen a number of his administration from Obama's presidency.

It's pretty well documented that Joe Biden had been the most vocal proponent of leaving Afghanistan during Obama's Administration.

But he wasn't President, Obama was.

As time passed and more and more was known, Trump was in power for 4 years and stayed. He did a terrible deal with the Taliban on the sly. He gave it all away. Biden actually got several months more time than Trump made a deal for. Trump's deal was for May. That is super duper undeniable fact.
