Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the Lord your God.
I guess you've missed the stories....but if the problem is that it's in a place of "honor"..obviously some couldn't handle passing by...Who could not handle walking past a statue? I only heard people say it should not be in a place of honor...
What makes RB's post even more ironic is he was born, bred, and lives in Pennsylvania -- a Northern state that fought to preserve the union. How odd that so-called conservatives in northern states support insurrection, civil war, slavery, racism, and monuments to all the above, eh?
Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the Lord your God.

in a statue that simply marks a dark part of our history.
Tell us, troll, just who is "bowing down" to ANY of these statues?
Tell us, troll, just who is "bowing down" to ANY of these statues?
How does the statue do that?
Apparently it "offends" you.
The Confederate people and the white supremacists.
Then I should be "offended," right? But I'm not. I don't see racism, insurrection and slavery in what my kin fought for AND WON in a statue that simply marks a dark part of our history, because it IS a part of our history and it happened over 150 years ago. Why, all of a sudden, are you offended? Were you "offended" 20 years ago? 40 years ago? I don't see it as supporting anything other than American History.
You must have pictures then. Show us, troll.
I wonder if Christians couldn't handle passing by this one.

I finally received the scripts from Phantasmal.

It doesn't bother me a bit. I'm not thin skinned like you and others here.
Your Pennsylvania ancestors fought in the Civil War on the side of the South? Mine didn't. I have a many-times great uncle who died of his battle wounds. He served in a Michigan regiment.
I thought the statues were offensive when I was a teenager. What other nation puts up statues to honor the leaders and soldiers of an attack on their nation? Why don't we have Hitler and Hirohito statues?
Take these Civil War things down and put them in museums where those who want to see them can. They can put them in the Jim Crow section.
