I remember teenagers pushing them around town in the 70/80s what ever that was. Pure piece of junk, if was so bad it made Fiat look reliable.

What do Koreans know about making cars.

Kia now outsells Audi, Mazda, Volkswagen, and Lexus.

To be fair, BAC, the Yugo was a terrible, terrible car.

Skodas had the same dodgy reputation in Europe until they were taken over by VW. It was just that old Soviet era technology thing.

that's not the neuvo rich buying Kia my brother.
Don't get me wrong I hope they sell enough to raise the slave wages the chineese get to match ours. Also it took kia 20yrs.

Early reports are the chineese lack quality. Kia took a lesson and built good vehicles. China doesn't have a quality culture, for our sake lets hope they follow in Kia's footsteps not Yugo's.
I'd say Kia is for low income and budget minded middle class.
the Nuevo tools want the Lexus,Infiniti, and Mercedes (properly pronounced with teeth clinched ala Thurston Howell III).

I agree with you about the Yugo .. but didn't the Yugoslavians make that heap .. not the Chinese?

and not much of it is quality, the Yugo was from Yougoslavia. I'm just saying I hope the Chineese vehicles aren't that bad.

The Yugoslavian state's automotive arm, i believe. Proving once more that Communism does not stifle creative branding.

they would most certainly be the best beneficiaries. And not that I'm all gung ho about public option. But all the people worried about the cost of the bailouts should do the math on what would be saved by the auto co's.

There is no US auto industry without it.

... MILLIONS of lost jobs.

Here's the point I wasn't making. Nuevo rich, most of the tools I work with are. They kinda make me sick to my stomach. My wife shops at WalMart. I'm trying unsuccessfully to take shots at the uber rich that think they are too good for WalMart or a Chineese car. One of the tools looked at me like I was unemployed when I told him dorkishly proudly that I've never paid over $20,000 for a car. He's got 2 that were mid 40,000's, and a car full of tool coworkers gave me the same look.

I've never bought a new car, nor would I.

I buy 2 year-old Mercedes and let someone else pay the depreciation.

Your way smarter than me I buy new honda's about every 4yrs, my wife keeps hers twice as long.

You probably pay about as much for your new Honda as I pay for a 2 year-old Mercedes .. except I get much more car and value.

You should look into it.

I will my brother, I'm an old dog but I can learn new tricks. Back when I boated a lot I bought a couple SUV like 4yrs old and never had a single problem.

Nothing is a Mercedes but a Mercedes. They last forever .. which is why they're used as taxicabs in Europe.

It's not broken in until it reaches 100,000 miles.

.. and you'll feel much better driving it then you do your Honda.

Check it out .. then come back and tell me what model you bought.
I reccommend the E-Class.
