Yeah you are right, it has always been the conservatives fighting for free speech rights, greater fourth Amendment protections, providing for the rights of defendants to have a lawyer if they can't afford one, The liberals only care about the second amendment. Oh wait I think that is backwards. Liberals have traditionally fought much harder to protect the bill of rights while you right wingers whine about victims rights trumping the fourth amendment, about overturning Miranda, and fighting first amendment rights at every turn. The Warren court protected more Americans in its time than ANY other court in the history of the US.

Thats bullshit I'm a real conservative and I'd like to see the federal government get shrunk back to its enumerated powers only and I've never dissed the bill of rights. Liberals want to grow the federal government way past what the constitution allows thus shit all over it.

And there are plenty of democrats who can say the same thing.

You want to judge all liberals based on your views of liberals.

And then you want to be judged as a conservative on your own merits. Seems a little hypocritical to me.

You have only to look at the previous administration, Reagan's administration, and Nixon's administration to see that conservatives have no more respect for the US Constitution than do the liberals. They love it when it serves their purpose and ignore it when it doesn't.

Your attempts to paint all liberals as evil and all conservatives as heros in white hats is just bullshit. Try for the truth and let that be your guide.

That's bullshit Reagan's only fault was compromising too much with liberals but he had no choice with a democrat controlled congress Nixon not known exactly as a conservative so no comparison there.

Bush wasn't a conservative you dummy I'm on record as far back as the 1999 GOP Presidential primary as stating that.

There is a process for the NECESSARY function of amending the Constituition to adapt to the dynamic nature of life and contemporaneous society .. AND, AND, AND, the framers were intelligent enough to know the Constitution they constructed was a living document .. which is why it was written in broad strokes. That was their genius.

you've read my signature, right? the framers of the constitution were very exact in the specific enumerated powers given to a federal government. how does one then go on to say that the constitution was written very vague to 'adapt to the dynamic nature of life and contemporaneous society'?

I've read your sig, but I don't agree with it. In fact, I vehemently disagree with it.

As a student of the Constitution, surely you're aware of how much of society in which the framers existed in was left out of the Constitution .. like slavery. It wasn't even mentioned.

Do you think this an oversight, or was it left out intentionally?

Keep in mind that if you say it was intentional, you've acknowledged just one piece of the picture I'm going to paint and it demonstrates that it was left for another generation to figure out.

But that's just one piece.

I'm also a student of the Constitution.

The president has the Constitutional authority to deal with threats to US citizens in any way he sees fit little man.
