I can't say that we've had any exceptional presidents in my lifetime. We've had better and worse ones. Without any consideration to his legacy, Obama being the first non-white person elected to the office was historic, although not a qualification in and of itself.
With a few exceptions, the US does as well as its people are good. We have so many terrible Americans at the moment that the US cannot be good no matter what Biden does or doesn't do. We get the country we deserve; and at the moment, that country is shit thanks to the anti-intellectual, anti-science, anti-education, anti-medicine, anti-health sociopaths who are hellbent on destroying humanity and the planet because they were trained by people who are smarter than they are to hate people who are different from them.
