"But it doesn't prevent you from getting COVID!"

It boggles the mind that they care more for their power and fame than they do making sure that their base understands the facts about this pandemic and how to stay healthy.
My hair is on fire this morning, the horribly tragic deaths of 12 Marine is getting more outrage from the Trumpublicans than the 260,000 deaths of Americans from COViD. We had 35 people die in Houston the same day the Marines were killed in Afghanistan. Do they even care about those people?

My understanding of the bedrock intellectual principle of conservatism is: "Every man for himself!"

I do not think most rightwing elite feel even a twinge of conscience for surreptitiously getting vaccinated themselves, while promoting vaccine skepticism to their perceived social inferiors in wider Trumpotopia.
It’s disgusting.

Nope, not a bit. Just like they had their hands out for all the stimulus checks, then cry about others who were receiving unemployment.

Only if there is some way to make political hay out of their deaths, will they pretend to care. Just look at all the cultists jumping up and down here like deranged shitgibbons, thumping their chests and bleating about "Biden's failure." They're so pleased about the deaths in Kabul they can't contain themselves.

They are, total failure on their parts.

Sorry, but I disagree that being conservative equates to telling everyone to go fuck themselves. The military is both conservative and one of the most team-oriented human organizations on the planet.

“Trump Conservative”? Yes. “Modern American Conservative”? Yes. Just “conservative”? Sorry, but no, sir.

Agreed.

At it’s most basic, the Cultist meaning of “MAGA” is welfare for poorly educated, not-too-bright Euro-American males.

The US military is practically a socialist organization in structure, funding, and organization , irrespective of how individual members vote in elections.

I agree that the premise of "rugged individualism" has it's admirable qualities, but as a system of Political ideology it runs a risk of being used by elites to justify avarice and social darwinism.

Short answer: No. They don’t give a fuck in line with Cypress’s definition of modern conservatism. The only reason they give a fuck about the terrorist bombing is because it reflects poorly on Biden….as it should. Notice they never gave a shit how many Marines died when Trump was President.

Correct, but explain why it is not a requirement to be vaccinated if you are White House Staff, or work at the CDC, Pfizer, etc.
I expect that to change now that the FDA has approved the Pfizer vaccine. Notice that Fox News has the same procedures as the WH: vaccine or COVID test.

First sentence of your link: “However, a vaccine mandate for federal employees states that they have to be regularly tested for the virus if they choose not to be vaccinated.”

My humble advice is to read the article before posting, not just the eye-catching headline. ;)

Ummmm…..isn’t that like saying the National Socialists are pure socialists? LOL

Yes, the military is highly hierarchical, but I disagree on the socialist aspect. For one thing, it takes 20 years to earn a pension*. Anyone who leaves sooner is likely to get nothing. Nada. Zip. Zero.

*bonuses are offered for reenlistment contracts, sometimes severance pay is given depending upon the circumstances. After the Cold War ended, each military had to downsize. In some cases they “bought” members out with early pension plans. IIRC, 15 years was the minimum. The pension is based on 2.5% of base pay per year served. 20 years = 50% base pay. My pay is complicated because I count as “prior enlisted” due switching from Marines to Navy and my reserve time. My pay is 37.5% of base pay. A standard DOD pay scale delineates “base pay”. https://www.dfas.mil/militarymembers/payentitlements/Pay-Tables/

Morally reprehensible and cynical.

I have even seen right-wing posters here reluctant and reticent to openly admit they were vaccinated, demonstrating ulterior motives are afoot.

Trumpeters who are dishonorable, dishonest deplorables intentionally spreading false information that can hurt or kill their fellow Americans? There oughta be a law!

Why does the Trump crowd keep saying this, as though it's any kind of argument against vaccines?

The fact that it doesn't prevent transmission has been known for a long time now. Everyone knows this.

What the vaccines DO is keep you out of the hospital, and the cemetery - very effectively.

It doesn’t stop infections and it was supposed to. They have cut down on hospitalizations but since we’re ‘living the experiment’ they may or may not hold true in the future. There’s the prospect of having successive boosters to try and keep up with the variants and no one has any idea what adverse effects can arise after several of them.

Telling the truth doesn’t make me anti vax.

So you will slow your fear because someone gets "regularly tested"? Surely there is zero possibility of a flawed test result.

To clarify, it DOES help prevent transmission in the community; you are far less likely to become infected if you are vaccinated, and therefore less likely to spread the disease. But that efficacy is not as high as it was against the original. The latest I saw was that you are five times less likely to get the disease if you are vaccinated, and 30 times less likely to be hospitalized.

The reality is that there is no question about whether vaccines are effective. None. There is no debate, there are not two sides to the issue. Vaccinated people are less likely to get the disease, to be hospitalized with the disease, or to die from the disease. No discussion. No counter argument. This is an immutable fact.

As of May 10, there have been 4,434 reports of death following a COVID-19 vaccination to VAERS.

https://www.nebraskamed.com/COVID/does-vaers-list-deaths-caused-by-covid-19-vaccines

CDC doctors claim their is no relation to the vaccine but what would we expect pushers to say. My reaction was severe, no booster in my future

Yeah, you know and the doctors and CDC are lying. I got the booster this week. As with all the others. just a sore shoulder for a day. Label the doctors pushers to poison the well as they save millions of people from the Trump virus.

Making an assumption that the long-term effects.which are completely unknown, is a step to anti vaxxing. Saying the vaccine which stops 90percent of Covid as not stopping infections is another anti vaxxing move.In both cases you have no data proving what you say. The variants are a gift to America from tha anti vaxers.

No fear, son, only prudence. Are you projecting again?

You are also wrong about perfect testing. No such thing. Want to count on something 100% of the time? Stick to Death and Taxes.
