“…we're going to walk down to the Capitol, and we're going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women, and we're probably not going to be cheering so much for some of them.

Because you'll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength and you have to be strong. We have come to demand that Congress do the right thing and only count the electors who have been lawfully slated, lawfully slated.”

These are not the only remarks that incited the mob, but they’ll do. You don’t “show strength” or “demand that Congress do the right thing” or “cheer” for some of the senators but not others when you are outside the building where no one can see you or hear you, where for all intended purposes you might as well not have come.

Did the rioters look peaceful and patriotic? No. Therefore, they were acting *contrary* to what Trump asked of them. We’ve been through this a thousand times—what could Trump ever hope to accomplish by sending unarmed rioters into the Senate? Besides political suicide?

Because the "march" has never been the issue. It's what happened next. And when it did happen Trump stood by for hours doing nothing to stop it in spite of entreaties that he do so from members of his government to Ivanka. Instead he watched the thing on television. It won't do to argue the stupidity of it all. That's a given and to suggest that Trump is above stupid risk taking is to misunderstand the man you admire. And how risky was it? Trump only cares about his base and his base hasn't left him, even most of the more intelligent members of it, like yourself, still defend him.

That is near insane. The real angle, the only angle is Trump scheduled a rally down the street from the capitol at the exact time that the joint congress was certifying electoral college votes. He booked red wing Trumpys to speak who stirred up the anger as much as they could. That was their function. Then Trump closed with more hate talk and lies instructing the mob to go to the capitol and said he would go with them. He lied about all of it. This is such a simple case as the info the investigation will show. trump set a date and time so he could have his insurrectionists disrupt the joint congress in the act of doing their sworn duties.
