The reason is pretty obvious...
If they admit that wearing a mask protects you from COVID, they'd have to admit that COVID is "deadly stuff" that they "always wanted to play down" because none of them had the foggiest notion of what to do about it.
So they panicked instead and played it down, hoping it would just go away.
It didn't.
There was/is no conspiracy to make you and Trump look bad.
You did that all on your own when you chose to play it down instead of telling the truth.
So then masks don't suffocate you, unless you don't know how to wear a mask...which I'm not 100% sure you do.
