There's no hostage situation(s) in Afghanistan... yet but there is a good possibility some will develop. There is a high likelihood that one or more US soldiers will be killed or wounded trying to hold the airport open. It's an almost certainty that some US citizens will be killed by the Taliban trying to escape Afghanistan. We likely won't even hear about that right away.
Afghanistan has turned into a total mismanaged clusterfuck and it's due 99% to Biden and his administration.

The only thing that will keep all that from happening is that the Taliban has changed it’s stripes. My guess is they will want to test the Big Guy.
Along with China and maybe Russia. A change of leadership can’t come too soon. We’re not even a year into this. It’s not good.

I agree it looks terrible. But I am trying to imagine what President Biden could have done differently to have caused it to go better.
I am trying to imagine establishing a perimeter further out than just around the airport. Perhaps a regional thing outside Kabul. And then what. Tell everyone we are sneaking them out, but hope the word doesn't get out about what is being done?
That's not happening. As we pull back, they are moving in. That's all there is to it. How do you get the last guys out without some kind of agreement? And we had that.
We had an agreement with the Taliban. It was all diplomatically agreed that we were leaving, and they are not to take action against us as we do.
That was already negotiated before President Biden took office.
President Biden lived up to the word of the United States of America, and that is saying a ton more than what Trump did. That is saying the USA stands behind it's word, something the world needed to see again.

that made no sense. The Taliban has been going along with Biden.The Taliban is interested in more world acceptance. Whether they have really changed is hard to tell. I saw a woman running a girls school in Kabul.She said the Taliban dropped in to see what she was doing since they were building an expansion. She explained it and they went away. She feels they were serious about leaving her alone.
Biden has accomplished peace. That will help America in so many ways.

The Taliban have a problem. They are like the barking dog that caught the firetruck. What do they do with it? Now, all of a sudden, they go from being anti-government to being the government. Now the pressure is on them to show they can do a better job. Where are they going to get money to run the country? Will they continue selling drugs?
They wanted control. Now they have it. How much of a grace period should they be allowed before they are blamed for the problems of Afghanistan?
It's easy to put down the government. It's a lot harder to be the replacement government. And it's not like they have the support of all the people. What they have is intimidation. That's no way to govern. They have no idea how much trouble they are in. Afghans have a taste of freedom. How is the Taliban supposed to deal with that and not come off as a bunch of thugs?
