The Proud Boys confronted ANTIFA after ANTIFA threw the sound equipment into the river, stole the sandwiches and sprayed gas at the worshipers.Andy Ngo? Why am I not surprised.
Anyway, those were the Proud Boys. Both groups are just a bunch of soibois.
The Proud Boys confronted ANTIFA after ANTIFA threw the sound equipment into the river, stole the sandwiches and sprayed gas at the worshipers.
Once again you have no ability to keep anything in context.
hildren, including toddlers, were in attendance at the worship event when the group of Antifa demonstrators began throwing projectiles, including eggs, one woman told a videographer at the scene.
"They threw a flash bomb into a group of kids who were out there," she said.
A male worshipper said a pastor had walked up to ask the group of demonstrators to stop -- but he was pepper sprayed. The woman is seen attending the pastor’s eyes covered by an orange substance.
The Portland Tribune reported that members of the far-right group, Proud Boys, later descended on the worship event and clashed with the Antifa members. Additional video circulated online by independent journalist Andy Ngo shows the clashes carried onto a nearby city street, and the alleged Proud Boys members, seen dressed in yellow and black garb, fired a paint ball gun at several Antifa members.

lying about what? whether it was worship or a political event?
what difference does that make?
ANTIFA attacked a peaceful event, then (afterwards) PBoys and ANTIFA went at it on the streets ( not at the event)
ok my links didnt see the initial confrontationA burst of pepper spray and a volley of paintball gunfire broke the peace in downtown Portland on Saturday, Aug. 7.
A stand-off between left-wing anti-fascists, often dubbed antifa, and right-wing guards wearing the black-and-yellow colors of the Proud Boys led to an incongruous clash as pedestrians and tourists on tandem bicycles strolled past at Tom McCall Waterfront Park.
Posters on social media had advertised a gathering led by Pastor Artur Pawlowski at noon near the Battleship Oregon Memorial off Southwest Naito Parkway — but the first confrontation began closer to the Salmon Street Springs.

But why did ANTIFA attack a peaceful event?
I watched the video twice. The Antifa group moved towards where the other group had set up some sound equipment and other items.
One Antifa started shouting obscenities and threatened several of the other group. At one point one of the second group with an Antifa getting in his face pushes him away. A brief pushing contest ensues. Then another Antifa uses what is likely pepper spray on one of the other group. If paintballs were also fired at the second group I couldn't see that in the video. I suppose it is possible though.
The whole block of Antifa approach the location of the sound equipment where they start knocking it over and it looks like they take several pieces of it. They are clearly wearing body armor, carrying shields and improvised weapons and presenting a group and individual threat to the second group.
What I see is Antifa disrupting what was likely a peaceful event, then committing several assaults, and finally vandalizing and stealing property. The other group did nothing. So, you have a bunch of black clad thugs and criminals attacking people because they can. Whatever the second group was doing, it was legal and peaceful until Antifa showed up and started shit. From what I saw in the video, Antifa were the only ones that committed crimes, both misdemeanors and at least a couple of potential felonies (assault).
I can't say from what was in the video who the second group was, but it really doesn't matter. Who made that video really doesn't either unless it can be proven that it was somehow doctored and not accurate.
It's the Proud Boys. And Andy Ngo is always there every time the Proud Boys and Antifa clash.
Go figure.
I watched several more videos on this incident here:

I don't care if the second group were neo-Nazis, Proud Boys, or whatever, Antifa showed up and started all the shit and criminal activity that happened. Every--EVERY--video shows that. It doesn't matter what you or I think of the second group. They weren't the ones that forced themselves on another group that was peacefully assembled, Antifa was. Antifa were the thugs and criminals in this particular event.
If Antifa didn't show up and start shit nothing would have happened. But they did. They were the instigators and wholly and solely at fault for the escalation that followed.
If you actually think Andy Ngo and the Proud Boys don't want confrontation then I have a bridge to sell you.
Don't know, don't care. I am commenting on the videos as presented. If the Proud Boys wanted a confrontation, they got one. If they simply expected they'd be confronted and would have otherwise peacefully assembled, done their thing, and then left that's even better.
It doesn't change that Antifa, of their own volition and without provocation, showed up and started shit. That is what happened in those videos. They came with the intent of acting criminally to stop another group from peacefully assembling. They showed their violent intolerance for peaceful assembly and free speech that they disagree with. That is completely and totally Antifa's unilateral actions. They were, in those videos, the thugs and criminals--PERIOD!
Yes we both saw the same video. What you are not noticing is that Andy Ngo just happened to be there. What does that tell you? You are an intelligent person. You are capable of connecting the dots.
