No, he didn't. He didn't even try any of that. He came out of a side door, gun drawn, and shot her without even trying to otherwise control the situation.
One of two things. She would submit to control, and that would end the situation, or she wouldn't and the officer would have to amplify his use of force. He didn't try anything intermediary. He used lethal force first, not last.What do you think would have happened at that point?
It did something. It stopped from the mob from attempting to break in. Worked like a charm.
And, had he controlled Babbitt and placed her in cuffs, etc. While covering that point of entry, it likely would have worked too, but we don't know because he completely mismanaged the scene by his reckless actions.
