One of two things. She would submit to control, and that would end the situation, or she wouldn't and the officer would have to amplify his use of force. He didn't try anything intermediary. He used lethal force first, not last.

It did something. It stopped from the mob from attempting to break in. Worked like a charm.

And, had he controlled Babbitt and placed her in cuffs, etc. While covering that point of entry, it likely would have worked too, but we don't know because he completely mismanaged the scene by his reckless actions.

Okay so Rittenhouse was responsible.

Far more responsible in his actions than that officer. It was clear that Rittenhouse was being physically attacked when he fired on his attackers. That's a far more reasonable use of force than an officer shooting someone in the back because they're climbing through a window and clearly not armed.
