Independents' Warning for Obama

Easy. IM an independent who voted for Obama. If he raises taxes on under 250k I will vote for whomever is running against him. If he doesn't then I will likely vote for him.

Thus you get played by both parties.

They both SAY and PROMISE a lot of shit when running for office .. then 4 years later you vote for whoever says and promises more than the guy you voted for but are now mad at .. because he promised you stuff you didn't get.

Such is American politics.

i hear yah but have to make choices somehow. for this particular president I voted for him because he promised no taxes for my bracket. Simplistic reasoning i know.

I wouldn't call it simplistic reasoning at all. You voted your interests.

But the American system of politics means that Americans get played every 4 years. We bounce from one extreme to the other looking for answers to problems we don't really want to face.

I'm not pointing fingers at you good brother. I'm simply highlighting the dilemma we face.

Actually it's great reasoning. Independent voters play an important role in communicating information about the "non partisan" voting block in America. The quintessential "issues and candidate" voter... We are best engaged in the political proccess when our values, wants, needs, and ideas are heard and represented by ALL Americans.

and what if the Republicans choose Mike Huckabee or Sarah Palin? It's really an odd situation in the Republican party. There's a power vacuum there and I'm just wondering who the hell it's gonna be that fills it? I mean shit, Mitt Romney's starting to look good.

BAC you're seeing the glass as half empty. Hell cuz it could be worse. We could still have Bush or worse we could have Harding, a man with the ability and personality of an unsalted cracker.
