And claimed to have taken 10 hours of calculus plus differential equations , plus linear algebra as electives to increase his GPA to get into a fourth tier law school.

The Democrats did that in the first impeachment hearings more than once. The Democrats couldn't trust that the Republicans would go along meekly with everything they were doing so, they shut them out of hearings.
