Everything trump did was aimed at getting re elected. He started right after his inauguration. I believe he was simply pandering to Fla. Cubans who tend to hate real Cubans. Said demographic tends to vote Republican anyway.

The Biden administration was criticized on social media for appearing to have difficulty finding its footing on how to respond to the protests.
The White House and the President have already responded.
