Jack: I think the proper context is to view it as 'Winners vs Losers'. The historical view is that 'Losers' got the short end of the stick. Take South America as an example. The 'Winners' imposed their Language and Religion on the 'Losers' and most of the Governments and the Rich are European. Or, Britain. The English dominate the Welsh and Irish.

Jack: Yes. Easy to turn the 'Slavery' issue into a 'Racial' issue. I view that as non-productive.

My view: The Elites (the Wealthy) want to keep the Worker Drones fighting amongst themselves. The PROBLEM is 'Wealth Distribution'. Nobody wants to lose their Billions and the Power it brings to them and their Families. Promoting 'Racial Hatred' is in the interest of the Elites. 'Racial Hatred' divides the Worker Drones into factions that only fight each other. The classic 'Divide & Conquer' technique that has worked from the beginning of 'Pit one Worker against the next Worker'.
I support 'Brotherhood' as a Goal. I support 'Dia de La Raza', a celebration of racial solidarity, mixing, inclusion.

'Racial Hatred' not only hinders a fairer 'Wealth Distribution', it also plays into the hands of our Adversaries (like Russia, China, etc.)

It may be unproductive but some ppl want to discuss it..

I agree on the wealth aspect which I would most certainly include our politicians in both parties.. Many of who are super rich, rich & working their way there through their political connections~ pimping their political prowess & connections...

Those writing the laws are doing so in their own interests & those of their "friends" far, far to often........
 
Public K-12 education is NEVER going to get sociology right.

Makes sure the brats know how to write a simple, grammatically correct declarative sentence...every try.
Get them to enjoy reading.
Make sure they can balance a checkbook.

Even those who don't go to college can learn a bit about sociology as adults.
You've taught them to enjoy reading, remember?

Nobody is going to get it right teaching it to kids.
The teachers aren't given enough autonomy from busy body parents who still want to control kids' minds..

1. You can come to a Conclusion that 'White People' are the Problem. That Slavery is/was Racist. That White People are Racists.
2. You can come to a Conclusion that Slavery has been around for thousands of years. That it is based on 'Victors enslaving the Vanquished'.

Africans came to the New*World as Slaves. They were already Slaves when they got here. So ... they could have stayed in Africa, been sold to Arabs, been sold to Brazilians. Either way, they were Slaves to somebody.

Jack: I'm from SoCal. I came to NOLA at 18. When I first got here, I was at a Bus Stop. A Black guy walked up. I stuck out my hand and said "Hey my Brother". He said "We'll be Brothers when I fuck your wife, your sister, your mother, and your daughter for the next 400 years". I just stood there ... mouth open ... hand still extended. They don't teach you THAT in school. It took me awhile to understand how deeply entrenched the Hate really is. That was fifty years ago. It's a little better today. As a White guy, there is nothing I can do to change the Past.

Well if that is to imply progress I would agree, but there are issues/problems that remain as well.....

Not everyone has the same motivations & over time those motivations etc can change:cool:
 
CRT is just telling American history without sugar-coating the facts that would upset the white people. We are guilty of many vile acts toward minorities.

It is no accident blacks are at the bottom of the American economic system. The system has been taking advantage of minorities from the beginning. It never changed. Minorities have worse schools, fewer opportunities, far worse treatment from cops and the legal system.
All it takes is a couple of generations of removing the truth from our education and it will be scrubbed away.
CRT wants the facts taught to our kids. Repubs have made a huge deal because that is not what they want.
I did not even mention slavery, Jim Crow, Tuskegee Experiment, and the prison industry. The Reds want them deleted from history. They have never gone away.
