I resubmit these are simply "old guys rule" prejudices.

When I was a boy, my father obtained his PhD in Nuclear Physics. He did that because it was the sexy science
at that time. Now it is not. Hell, he might have trouble finding a job today but for his estimable rep. RIP dad.

Now its all neuroscience.... in 20 years maybe not. But it is absolutely true that the psychology of yesteryear is not a "thing"
anymore. It is NOT psuedoscience. It is MASSIVELY funded hard core science requiring the bedrock stats, computer science, high tech
lab work, chemistry, genetic sequencing and everything these human living Trumptarded fossils consider real "science"

They can control your body putting a photon probe in the proper region of your brain and make you suck putin cock now, if they so choose.


They are just old and irrelevant. This should be a no dinosaur forum. It would eliminate 20 kinds of Archie Bunker dumb from the dialogue.

Genetics is the hot science now, and that is where most funding is going.

Physics is a venerable and traditional science, but the interest in funding big projects for particle physics and nuclear physics has waned since the Cold War ended.

A theory is a hypothesis with supporting evidence.

We know our understanding of gravity, aka general relativity. is incomplete and perhaps in need of wholesale revision.

General relativity cannot explain dark energy and the accelerated expansion of the universe.

General relativity breaks down at quantum scales, and the hunt for a quantum theory of gravity is an active area of research.

The fact that an apple falls to the ground, or a body falls into a crocodile pit is an observation. An observation only.

It has no explanatory power.

The theory of evolution is secure and at least as firmly established as general relativity -- even though we know both theories are incomplete and there is a lot more to learn.

Divine providence is outside the realm of inductive logic and scientific inquiry.

But you know as well as I do that biblethumpers latch onto to any uncertainty in a scientific theory, and imply that the uncertainty somehow lends support to a providential act of creation.

I have never categorically ruled out the possibility of providential design. But providential design is never, ever, under any circumstances implied or supported by scientific uncertainty.

FWIW I pick the evolution related one. Is the extant theory of gravity "true?" I have little confidence that it is. Less so that even 1 % of the human pop can conceive of it to any degree of certainty.

Classical mechanics predicts an apple will fall with great certainty. Fossils declare we evolved from apes with equal certainty.
That shit is around the margins, truth is a core we haven't or may not penetrate due to the human condition (the goldfish seeing outside the bowl problem)
