Lab leak theory? It’s quite possible. Can’t trust the Chinese government to tell us the truth about anything, least of all the nature of their coronavirus research or any accidents involving it.

But you know who could have been in the best possible position to inform the US about it many months ahead of the pandemic? The China-embedded CDC epidemiologist who was fired by the Trump administration in July, 2019, that’s who. I’m referring to Dr. Linda Quick, the only person on the ground in China for the US working in this capacity at all. And she was never replaced — ever. Her position was eliminated as collateral damage during Trump’s trade war with China.

Do you remember Rand Paul or Tom Cotton or any other Trump water carrier protesting Quick’s firing at the time — or at any other time? I sure as hell don’t.

So Trump, knowing that China couldn’t be trusted on anything, apparently seemed to trust them just enough not to have anyone keep tabs on their virus research. And the GOP seemed to have no problems with this, either.

Maybe it’s time to remind the American public about all this, eh? Especially just before the next campaign cycle.

China is ‘embedded’ in our government, the media and a few other places.

It would be nice to know if the CDC person who was fired had any ties to the CCP.

Zhu and the other sources said the American expert, Dr. Linda Quick, was a trainer of Chinese field epidemiologists who were deployed to the epicenter of outbreaks to help track, investigate and contain diseases.

No other foreign disease experts were embedded to lead the program after Quick left in July, according to the sources. Zhu said an embedded expert can often get word of outbreaks early, after forming close relationships with Chinese counterparts.

Zhu and the other sources said Quick could have provided real-time information to U.S. and other officials around the world during the first weeks of the outbreak, when they said the Chinese government tamped down on the release of information and provided erroneous assessments.

So, we’re now conceding it was a lab leak and we were doomed to have a pandemic because the CCP ‘tamped down on the release of information and provided erroneous assessments’ lol?

And wouldn’t they have just removed this person from the lab to protect themselves from scrutiny? This IS the CCP we’re talking about.

Could have potentially seen something and reported it, and this had nothing to do with either Trump or the functioning of the Trump administration. This was about the CDC managing its budget problem that was caused by Congress, and in the process deciding that this position was no longer needed.

This is a point potentially to talk again about how the CDC has for so many years turned in bad work.

This is also not news....it was widely reported over a year ago.
