No and he made it clear that though experiences had shaped who he was he did not bend, change, or shape the law as a result. Nor did he say that being an Italian male made him more capable to judge cases than Latina women

Rather than consider the source of the enmity, you might consider why you've earned it....
To mis-characterize what a man says to spin a lie is what I think you've done....
Alito stated why he is what is, something we can all acknowledge...we are all what we are because of our life experiences....

To insinuate he meant he was better than anyone else is just a lie....
To claim his remarks are even close to Sodomayers racist claim is a lie...
To spin it like he claimed he was better than someone of another race is a lie....

I admire and respect both Alito and Sotomayor for acknowledging that their ethnicity is part and parcel of their being and cannot be swept aside when acting as JUSTICEs(note the word's dual meaning) of the Supreme Court.

She claimed that her unique life would make her judgments better than a white man that didn't have her unique life....
She didn't say just anyone that didn't experience what she did...be it another latino man or women, or an Af. Amer......no, she made the comment about a white man in particular....

so don't try equating apples and oranges.....aint' gonna fly here....
