tell me what a civil war means genius.....![]()
If you're trying to imply that the United States didn't exist because the southern states left it you are retarded.
The United States existed minus the southern states.

All three of those men subjects of his Majesty, King George III. At the time they signed the Declaration of Independence they became traitors to the crown. Had the British won that war most of the great men that signed the DoI would have been executed at the order of their monarch. There is no use arguing this point because as I pointed out earlier, Franklin gave voice to what they all knew when he said "We must all hang together, gentlemen...else, we shall most assuredly hang separately"Bullshit. They were patriots standing up for the Constitution, the same as Jefferson, Washington and Adams - all traitors by your despicable standards.

and you're a moron for thinking the united states existed without the soutern states....
do you know what "union" means?
yeah.....two sides to the coin, the winner would have chosen the ultimate name....revisionist moron
The states of the north were still united. If Texas left today, would we no longer be the United States of America? We'd have 49 very united states and the Republic of Texas on our border.
oh i see....this is about names we call "unions" and "confederates"......
so the south would be the united "confederate" states of america and the north would the be united "union" states of america....
stop playing stupid all time, you are convincing people you really are
The south WAS the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confederate_States_of_America
The United States was and always will be the United States, and they were not United States Citizens, which goes back to my original point which led to this stupid diversion by you. They weren't US citizens and they don't deserve to be honored as fallen US soldiers. They were traitors and deserved to die a traitor's death.
They were traitors. There should not be a monument to confederate soldiers at the same place where men who bravely defended the Union are buried.
and i'm sure if the south had won.....they would have said the same....
you are being obtuse, moronic and idiotic to call them traitors. you have yet to address what is a civil war. my guess is, because you know, that a civil war means a country, a UNITED country fighting against itself....
your bigotry and ignorance is noted.
No, retard, they would have called themselves citizens of the Confederate States of America, like they did before we defeated them. They would never have been United States citizens.

You're correct, Good for Obama.
The reasons given in the article, are totally one sided.
Right or wrong, these are Americans that fought for what they believed in and the reasons given could be used to say that he shouldn't recognize those that died in Vietnam or anytime since then.
Confederates aren't American. They should've all been hung.
A\Actually, they weren't Americans.

Obama will observe Confederate Memorial tradition despite petition
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama will send a wreath to the Confederate Memorial at Arlington Cemetery on Memorial Day, rebuffing a petition from academics urging him to cease the decades-old tradition.

good for obama
I'm not saying that I agree with what they did; but I do believe that they felt that the North was bent on destroying their way of life and their economy.
We're not talking a handful of individuals, or even a single State; but almost half of the United States.
Your attempt to correlate this with a "group of Muslem Americans", was wrong, undeserved, and is just a red herring.
