Not sure from where you're getting this information, but according to the EIA, in 2020, the US was a net exporter of oil, and there's no reason to believe that changed in the last 5 months.
Perhaps you're forgetting about the storm in Texas that rendered all fossil fuels completely inaccessible, or this latest Russian attack on the pipeline?
