Because We Can't Talk About It Enough . . . Another Torture Thread

Well for DECADES we, as in "WE THE PEOPLE of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", considered it torture, so what changed?

Oh, right...now that we're using the technique, it no longer qualifies as "torture".

Keep up that spin.

Well I wasn't aware of waterboarding in the past, had I been, I wouldn't have thought it was torture then either. I guess we were wrong in the past.

And yet here you are. Still unwilling to put your money where your mouth is.

Coward.

Hi, I'm grind, you must be retarded. Nice to meet you.

You are being incredibly facetious by suggesting that I can just go get waterboarded any time I choose. Again point me to the nearest waterboarder.

belme I guess it is wishful thinking, but I don't believe either party has our best interest in there heart, I feel on both sides they care more about there party than they do there country, wish there was a magic wand to fix things but there isn't, so I guess we keep going back and fourth until the country is completely tanked.
excuse me, but if you are so convinced that getting along is the way to go, when will YOU start showing your support for the current administration and wishing THEM well?

Democrats won the election and won big. Elections have consequences. Democrats get to try it their way for a while and see if their way is any better than the way that was tried for the past eight years.

You complain that democrats were partisan during the Bush years, but put your money where your mouth is, Jeff. Walk the walk. All I have seen so far is a lot of talk from you about a post-partisan country, interspersed with typical partisan rhetoric.

well i don't know about man cow but hitchens is a liberal pussy with a political agenda. So yeah.. doesn't impress me much.

So what about Jesse Ventura?

as you dance away from the definition contained in law...

that is not surprising either.

im not dancing away.

Clearly the law is much too general and vauge and should probably be properly defined. Naturally any such changes should also be retroactive.

Only people who care about the country more then their party, which means not conservatives.

haha... ib1 has kind of put a lot of people in their place because obviously there are a lot more conservatives than there are liberals who are registered for their party. Oh wait, registration for the Democrats has grown here recentaly while registration for the Republicans has decreased.

ib1, so with Democrats now dominating party registration among voters what is up with you homeboy? You are in control sir. You are representing. Folks are looking at you blood. What's up boy???

Hi, I remember when you were on the WOT board you said that you had a job where you had to leave for work at 5 am and were paid very little, are you still doing the same job or have you moved on?

I got laid off about two months ago. In fact of the twelve people in my group they laid off nine of us.

I used to wake up at 5:30am to go to the gym. I would work out for 1 1/2 hours and get to desk by 8:15am. Would work until 7:00pm and then drive home. Was in bed by 9:00pm.

Now I'm working on starting a real estate investment group. But yes, my sorry ass got laid off.

That was so retarded I'm guessing you've been drinking. The logic doesn't follow at all.

Like abortion law? I can think of a lot of people in which a retroactive abortion would be appropriate....you for example! :pke:

And, each party defines "best interest" differently.

As do we all, I am as guilty as the next in doing so, I sometimes feel my opinion is right on, then I read someone else s point of view and they make sense

Abortion alone would cause us never to all be able to work together, at least IMO, I feel very strongly against it,(unless there was a rape or the Woman's life is in danger) And I know there are others that feel 100% different

I guess we will never be able to all work together as one, as long as we are a free country and have the right to vote and believe the way we want(witch is what makes the US great)But somehow we are going to have to do better than what we are now.

I reject that notion that we can't work together even if there are issues in which we have little or no common ground. I think that's the real genius of our founding fathers system of government they invented. The genius for compromise.

As I've stated else where Politics is a transactional business. It's when we fail to compromise in these political transactions that America runs into trouble.

Abortion is a perfect example. There are all sorts of areas where we can compromise (transact) on this issue. Most Americans support the right to chose an early term abortion and the privacy rights that it is based upon while at the same time do not condone abortion as a form of birth control. It's the extremes on both sides of this issue who refuse to transact (compromise) that cause the problems. The irony here is that both extremes, those who support the right to chose an abortion for any reason and those who believe abortion should be prohibited under any circumstance are on the moral wrong on this issue. It also demonstrates how transactional politics are the only way to achieve workable compromises for these kinds of issues and that those on the extreme are often a big part of the problem if not the entire problem.

Well MM you are exactly right in one way, I am sure you have seen on this board and others were I have stated ( many times) that both parties are F***** up cause they care more about there party than there Country.

As you know I joined this board to follow you, actually to Fuck with you, and then found that that some of the members here are very intelligent and I really like this board, So I took my avatar down( no one asked, I just removed it) and hadn't messed with you in a thread.

Now as to why I feel the way I do, you are one of the biggest reasons I feel we must learn to work together better, I have asked you in private why you get so UN glued cause someone has a different political opinion, I agree 100% that you or anyone has a right to debate the facts, but you as a man of God take it to a much higher place.

When I see a preacher wishing a man with cancer would die so he can piss on his grave, when I read the post of a preacher posting another member has had sex with his son, or when I read a preacher's fantasy of a disease ridden gang raping another members child, all cause of a difference in opinion it makes me realize there has got to be a change.

Now I know your post was some kind of trap to slam me, but as I told you before (many times) if you tell the truth the slams don't hurt, so you spin this anyway you would like, or you could be a real man of God, or just a real man for that matter, and realize everyone makes mistakes, but when ya don't learn from them , that's a problem.

So I guess I owe you a thanks, cause if I didn't come here to mess with you I wouldn't of found more intelligent people to read there opinions and read the facts that they post, I have learned allot here

And by the way MM, when the primary's first begun, Obama was my man, but quite a few things he spoke about turned me off, so no I didn't vote for him, but once he was elected my feelings were simple, he won and we must stand behind him, and I tried, but IMO I feel from the second he took the oath the lies begun, again that's my opinion, so although I don't agree with him I do realize he is the president and I pray he makes the right decisions.
