I watched a video of my friend being sprayed with pepper spray for her police training and it was horrible and that isn't even in the same class with water boarding.

I don't like pain, I wouldn't volunteer for pain, well, with the exception of childbirth, but there was a reward at the end of that one!!!!!

Jesse Ventura also served in the US Navy. He completed BUD/S training, and was a UDT diver and a SEAL (in Vietnam). So I would bet he is far more qualified to call something torture than a bunch of people online trying to sound tough.

He also managed to join the Mongols motorcycle club and become a master-at-arms.

He is indeed a politician. But he is also more than that. If anyone here can make the claim that they passed BUD/S training and claims that waterboarding is not torture I will listen.

Hey no Doubt at one time Jesse was the man, my hat is off to him for his service to this country

If you think joining a MC makes ya special well that's your issue, I have rode with many different clubs up and down the east coast,(never joining one, never felt the need to have to) some of the member were very smart others were on there way to prison for many years,so is he tuff yes, but does that make him qualified ? Hell when I was a kid I went to the pagans club house in NJ, they were having a party for the president of the N.E. chapter, he was going away for 45 years the next morning, should we see what he has to say?

I guess all the drugs he has done over the years is ok also?

Listen to the guy, he is burnt out, I heard him talk before any of this waterboarding ever came out and he was a whack job,talking about how 9/11 was a inside job(and maybe ya believe that, no disrespect but I have family that was there and watched the planes fly into the buildings) He is typical, if Clinton was in office when 9/11 happened he would have a complete different view, I don't know maybe steroids fog the brain.

Besides the human rights issues, waterboarding simply does not provide useful information. They will say anything to make it stop. They will confess to any crime. Other techniques, like sleep deprivation, I can imagine would provide something useful, since the deprivation would basically act as a depressant and loosen the tongue. Much like alcohol. However, it is not very reliable. And torture is not reliable at all.

Remember when Hitchens, a left winger but a huge supporter of the "war on terror", got on TV and tried waterboarding, which he had previously supported, and got through 15 or so seconds? SM came on here and said "What a pussy!" and Damo said that he had an agenda and was only pretending. I think this finally hits the nail on the head. Even right-wing supporters of the "war on terror" agree that it is torture - once they try it.
