Turn the south gay? You think allowing gays to marry will turn us gay?

Its not a pendulum its people. And once people see that the world does not end and their marriages are not effected there will be no reason to change back.

Its coming to the south.

Nah, you can wish for that all you want. Ain't going to happen in my lifetime.

When the courts and the state gov't declare it legal, what will you do? You have one vote just like everyone else.

In your lifetime (or at least my 52 years) gays have come out of the closet and been free to live without shame. Laws against sexual acts between consenting adults have been struck down. Schools have been integrated.

In 1957 many people would have said those things would not have happened in their lifetime.

They were wrong too.

This is not about me, no matter how you try and make it. I have no wish to turn any way but how I am. This is not about people being or turning gay.

This is about what is coming to our entire nation.

You can wish and hope it doesn't all you want. But it will happen.

granted my friends are in their 20's they don't care about the gay marriage thing. My best friends are total conservatives voted for McCain, and is pro gay marriage.

I think in a few years you will see as the baby boomers die off, you will see republicans move to the left w/ gay marriage. It will be a smart move by them

People in their 20's or 30's don't really care about it.

One group difference that Patterson was surprised to find: Children of gay and lesbian parents reported closer ties with their schools and classmates. The post showed the result of studies of children of gay and lesbian parents. This disputes your claim that allowing gays to marry would turn their adopted kids gay.

It is a study about the children of gay and lesbian parents. Adopted kids are not going to "turn gay" because their parents are gay.
