Bush attorneys who wrote terror memo face backlash

another not true statement, it is not just "now", all justices have been lawyers, from the very beginning

not 'all judges' have been lawyers, however, all supreme court justices have been lawyers. and look at the fricking mess we have because of it. I maintain that non lawyers would be much better judges because they wouldnt be so inclined to use legalese word twisting to make such blatantly unconstitutional decisions.

for instance, how many USSC cases, decided by lawyers, were so bad that they should have been immediately executed for the decision? I can name quite a few. would you?

Great, so you'd advocate Roy Bean for the bench?

which roy bean? and why would that be relevant?

Judge Roy Bean! Law west of the Pecos! Don't you know your judicial history? It's relevent cause Roy Bean wasn't a lawyer. He was a saloon keeper by trade. He didn't do as many hangings as legend claims he done but he did right good business in divorces ($10 per) and Weddings ($5) for which after officiating he would say "May God Have Mercy on Your Soul".

Texas has some very interesting legal Jurisprudence. Judge Bean set a precedence when a rail road worker was charged for killing a chinaman that the worker had indeed killed a human being but that he could find no law in the books against killing a chinaman and dismissed the case.

Another Texas judge set an interesting legal precedent when a rancher killed a Mexican sheep herder. He dismissed the case on the spurious legal grounds that the sheep herder was better off dead.

thats who I thought you were referring to. let me read up on it, but do you really expect that one simple example of a non lawyer horrible judge means that all non lawyer judges will be horrible judges?

obviously this is not someone who should be a judge, but he was appointed by the texas government somehow.

this does not mean that all non lawyer judges would be this bad. or is that what you are trying to say?

Keep in mind....were talking about the same state that gave us George W. Bush and Lyndon Johnson and one could argue that Judge Roy Bean had a more succesfull career than they did!

Though there are strangers things than that out west. A friend and I once had a snort of whiskey at Bubbas Bar n Grill and Baptist Church. I'm not pulling you're leg either. It was outside of Ft. Smith, Arkansas.

well, not knowing you personally, i couldn't say whether you'd be underqualified or not. I, however, would consider myself better qualified than the last 3 presidents we've had. I also consider myself much more qualified to be a sitting judge than probably 1/3rd of the federal judges out there, but let's not do anything like require bullshit degrees to interpret a document written by people who weren't lawyers.

:lmao:

that was good.
Thanks
