Obama Tax Proposals Upsetting Silicon Valley Execs

Again, what's the straw man?

You're misrepresenting my arguments every chance you get. I took the time to restate it already, and you promptly ignored your mischaracterization and demanded that I point out your straw man yet again.

Do you really expect me to engage you on this level? You can't honestly.

You said you didn't read the article. How do you expect yourself to honestly discuss something you haven't read?

Again, and I'll say this one more time, I'm discussing the larger issue toward which this article points. I can discuss that, which is clearly related, without reading your boring article.

If you find tax debates on offshoring boring why do you take the time to make about 10 - 15 posts on a thread about tax debates on offshoring?

FYI and auto parts company near me is moving their manufacturing to taiwan and just keeping the management here. Should they get a tax break for that or be penalized to some degree?

Jesus you're either unbelievably retarded or you're pretending to be. What did I say in post 25, 32, 34, AND 43?

Ok, so you say you didn't read the article and then talk about the direction the article points which would imply that you at least browsed it. And if taxes as Obama is proposing are sure to be opposed by the tech industry maybe you can elaborate on why so many in the tech industry supported Obama. That's not to say they voted only on taxes but from a business perspective Obama has made it pretty clear where he has stood on taxes from the begining of his campaign.

and things fell apart after Obama began his campaign.

Kinda like Bush being against nation building and the US being the police force of the world.

Many Campaign promises and intents fall prey to reality.

But was Bush really caving to reality? I would say it was the neocon camp of Wolfowitz, Bremmer, Rumsfeld, and Cheney...

Good point. I find myself agreeing with you.
However there is the bush talk of Iraq even before he became president.

I am heading for storm cellar just in case...

I was watching something on the news yesterday about Obama closing loopholes and shelters for corporations. He wants them to pay their "fair share".

As if businesses pay taxes. Their customers pay the taxes.

Ancient GOP claptrap. You are talking about taxes on profits. Raising prices to cover income taxes would do two things, reduce the competitivity of one company vs its competitors and also raise net profits, thus increasing the amount of taxes paid on income. What then, raise prices again until there is no profit?

Making sure that only US Companies pay double taxes on all goods will truly make them competitive. /sarcasm

And if you don't believe that expected profits being taxed doesn't raise prices then you live in a whole different reality than the one that exists. It's like pretending that taxing gasoline hugely isn't inflationary, and thus won't raise the cost of everything we purchase that is delivered in vehicles to the stores....

Taxes aren't paid by corporations, they are paid by the consumer. Even if it is a "corporate" tax. It is funny that the people who argue for progressive taxes want to tax in this manner, it's just a hidden usage tax which are very non-progressive in nature.

Agreed, corporations are nothing more than pieces of paper. It is the inviduals that own them, that work for them and that buy their products that will pay the taxes.

The entire 'corporate' tax system is just a way for the idiots in DC to convince their respective lemmings that 'dem evil corporations must be taxed'!!!
