Torture

I worry this torture thing will go too far. I agree with most that waterboarding is torture. I agree that we should have no part in it. But when Barney poured that cup of water from the pitcher and set it in front of the criminal and told him he could have it if he would just.......talk...

Are we heading to a place where law enforcement would be afraid to use their standard practice of interrogating for fear of being sued or having done something unconstitutional?

I don't want to have surgery either, but if I had something that needed to be cut out, I'd change my mind and consent to it. So again, unless you have some reasonable suspicion that I have secrets that need to be learned that could save American lives, my only reasonable conclusion is that you must be a sadist.

Just because no court has recently ruled that waterboarding was torture... does not change the wording of the definition of torture that is the supreme law of our land:

what you previously admitted is that we do not know if the exact waterboarding they did fits that definition. so your analogy to an actual death, unarguable death, is false. here, we do not know if the specifics acts amount to torture.

I think you have falsely mischaracterized what I said. I think that waterboarding, by design, is intended to create the sensation of imminent drowning.

Why can't you be brave enough to answer a simple question? Do you think that being made to feel as if you are about to drown meets the definition of torture in the UN convention? yes or no?

a sensation of drowning is NOT the same as knowing you are going to be executed...according to liberal news (the actual number is under 12 i believe) the terrorist was waterboarded 183 times...

for the umpteenth time moron, i am not a judge and i do not have the specific facts on what actually occurred so i am in no position to pass judgment on this. too funny that you accepted my answer previously, but now do not accept it....

more intellectually "honesty" from the do as jesus would do hypocritical christiand and give people false/misleading information when asked specific questions

if your captor has strapped you to a board and begins doing things to you with water that give you the sensation that you are about to be drowned. wouldn't that qualify as an execution?

if your captor made you play russian roulette, do you think that every time the trigger was pulled that you would NOT think that a bullet was headed into your brain, regardless of how many times it had clicked on an empty chamber before?

if someone put you upside down on a board and started pouring water into your mouth and nose to the point where you thought you were about to drown, would you think that such treatment met the definition of torture under the UN Convention? yes or no?

i give my president, now former, the benefit of the doubt. his administration said it was not torture...i believe them. you bitch and moan about republicans not trusting obama and you say that since he is our president we should given him the benefit of the doubt....

when have I said that you need to give Obama the benefit of the doubt. Either provide a post of mine where I said that or recant.

and I asked you a simple question.... why can't you answer it?

YURT.... IN YOUR OPINION, if someone put YOU upside down on a board and started pouring water into YOUR mouth and nose to the point where YOU thought YOU were about to drown, would YOU think that such treatment met the definition of torture under the UN Convention? yes or no?
